..you don't have to add pids manually. A channels search will automatically set the correct parameters. But you need an image with a working emu. Can't help you with that ;)

I have a working emu. The problem is that the box, don't even recognise the codingsystem (BISS). The channels apear as FTA, but they are all black.

It has been established that for some Receivers, the fact that the Encryption Flag is not set is a problem. Some folk have managed to use Editors to toggle that and have then had success. Some haven't (Me!).

Yes, but as I read here people with VU boxes an some with Dreambox800HD Se, linux boxes as mine that claim that channels working fine, there is a solution, that's couldn't solve it here till now.

..again, it's a question of image & emu. There are other boards where you can find an answer ;)

I had no problem with the dreamboxuk image and mgcamd working straight away. Must be something pre configured into the image as I deleted the keys and it still worked ;)

Black Hole and Black Pole images both work fine. As said above it's gettting the right emu that makes it work.

I think it's definitely got to be down to image on Linux boxes running Enigma. I run EDG Nemesis on my DM500HD original and the channels will lock and scan in fine but they won't clear with MGCamd or CCCam and the relevant keys.

The transponder also locks on my Technisat Skystar 2 HD USB but I've not managed to open the channels in DVB Dream due to driver issues with Windows 8 by the looks of things... DVBViewer will tune in the transponder fine but there's no way of adding the encryption details in that to get vPlug to handle them.

Yes I think it's more the Skystar USB that causes the problems. It often reports that the driver isn't working properly and needs a full PC restart. Windows 8 doesn't make it happy for some reason...

Strictly speaking it's not BISS. You have to enter the key as a constant control (DCW) word for each service seperately. I'm not familiar with vplug but here's what I've found:
-Tune to that channel
-Open vPlug’s editor
-Go to SID's menù
-Right click on the sids list.
-From the appeared menu select "Find current channel".
Now you will find the corresponding record of the current channel. Edit it and enter your DCW keys.

Hi Hixxy1 - thanks for posting part of the answer to my question already as you are showing one of the MPEG4 channels. Can you tell me what tuner you have in your DM800 as they generally seem to be arround the following spec:

Frequency Range 950 .... 2150 MHz
Demodulation DVB-S (QPSK), DVB-S2 (8PSK, QPSK)
Symbol rate DVB-S: 2 ... 45 Mbaud / s, SCPC / MCPC
DVB-S2: 10 to 31 Mbaud / s (8PSK), 10 -30 Mbaud / s (QPSK)

I wonder if I have a gap in my understanding of the way I should interpret SRs for QPSK or the way I am reading L**gsat?

Thanks

Rob
