Yes we have had this reported before - resetting the language selection on the box to one of the obscure ones fixes it

Yes but unfortunately you cannot change the audio language on a HD box

Yes you can - it is under the "Options" "Subtitles" then the "Favourite language" setting.

No, its not possible to change favorite language on HD boxes..
What you pointed out above only changes the favorite language for the subtitles...not the audio language of the box..

Well it certainly changes the audio track on my Sky DRX890 HD+ box - just watching Euronews in German on 508. The heading at the top of the "Subtitles & Language" menu section does say "All your language, subtitle and audio settings". If you set favourite language to German you can watch the rugby on S4C with an English commentary instead of the Welsh as I have been doing for the last 18 months. Instead of guessing what the menu item means why don't you actually try it. BTW there are no alternate language subtitle streams that I have found or can see on any satellite channel listing sites on 28 East and there are only around four channels with alternative audio streams.

So with this setting...can you hear the audio on Channel 6711 now?
There is world darts championship showing on 6711 and my DRX890 does not have audio (even with German language selected as subtitle language!!!)

Have you tried the other languages? I only quoted German as that was the one that S4C use as the "English" audio alternative. There are 16 different language alternatives.

EDIT I have just tried 6711 and cannot find the audio with my DRX890 although audio is present on that stream on my FTA box??? However I was merely disputing your statement that audio channels cannot be selected on the DRX890 - they can and work on all the alternative languages on Euronews for instance but for some reason not on the 6711 (and 6715) streams.

Can you receive any BBC channel? If so press "red button" and choose page 3001 for the Sports multiscreen page.

I found that for the Rugby 6711 had Audio when my DRX 890 was set to French

Iv'e gone through the audio settings on a hd box and I cant get any audio ???

You cannot get the audio on the current SKY+HD boxes.
We get the BBCi channels on a non-SKY box fine, vision and Audio.
Using a FS-4200 Fortec Star receiver - cheap from (e.g.) Amazon.co.uk
Using the SKY dish.
Carole.

It looks like the audio problem is resolved with the new HD software. I had a report last night from one of my customers that his box has upgraded the night before and he put the BBCi channels on last night to watch the football and he now has sound.
i would assume that the new software will roll out by manufacturer like before so it could be a few months before they are all updated but I'm sure someone on here will have a better idea of the plan.

Cheers
