Good news for our expats who struggle with Astra 2D reception:

Reading the press release the implication is that it will be from the international market programmes, i.e. BBC USA, BBC Prime and BBC World not from the UK pool of programmes.
 
Well they didnt think they were going to get immediate access to uk progs did they? :D
 
So Internet Viewers in, say, the USA, would be able to pay a subscription or fee to watch some BBC programmes that may have originated in, say, the USA!

If it's BBC World, Prime, USA or indeed any other flavour, having International access to I Player is of little use to me. I have a maximum of 1MB download speed, and trying to watch anything streaming over the web is not an easy thing to do. (Though strangely those small embedded interviews from the BBC pages seem to be fine).
