BBC & ITV on 28.2

Rumour control has it that as part of the DTT switchover in the UK and revisions of policy - BBC & ITV will be moving from the 28.2 platform onto another Eutelsat bird - probably 19.2 - with a single focus beam on UK. Has anybody heard similar or can anyone provide any info??????????????

Complete rubbish!

Eutelsat dont have a bird at 19E, and have no launches scheduled in the near future. Thir next bird is scheduled to slot at 10E

If the Beeb moved off 28E they would lose 8 million households with sky boxes overnight.


What is going to happen is that Eurobird 1 at 28E will be carrying the UKFreesat epg data - tests have already started on one of the Arquiva transponders. The existing channels will not be going anywhere.
