This is wishful thinking. BBC One HD and 6945 both have the same Video PID 5400 and the same Audio PID 5401, i.e. they are two labels leading to the same video stream.

The single BBC One SD channel for all of the UK will go live on via Satellite 23rd January 2023 when the first BBC One England Regions go HD.

Interesting that BBC South Todays 10.30pm programme tonight can't be shown due to operational reasons. Instead the BBC Oxford Version of the programme is being shown.

BBC One Oxford is one of the two channels being axed when the switchover happens. The other being BBC One Cambridge

BBC One South HD is now showing up on the Freesat EPG on Channel 101.

Channel 106 where BBC One HD was now displays the channel name of "Channel Moved" and a programme schedule of "BBC One HD has moved to 101"

For anyone interested these changes do not affect Freeview (Terrestrial TV), BBC One HD 101 on Freeview in the South Region is still showing the red screen of death.

Yes, the dates are when SD versions of those regions will be removed from the Sky & Freesat EPG, have now added that to the table.

There are still some old SD only boxes still in use. One of the chaps I work with was telling me hes only just upgraded to SkyQ after assorted phone calls from Sky telling him the BBC channels were about to disappear

But the number still in use must be VERY low now.

There will also be a fair, but dwindling number of SD receivers being used by non UK citizens in the country, catching Astra 2 among other satellites of interest.

Picture quality on the local news vs South Today is nowhere near as good. We're still awaiting BBC One East which will pop up tomorrow I'm guessing?
