best dreambox 7020 deal !!

@ delamaire: neither so far I'm afraid, snowed under at work. Hope to get the ball rolling again in a couple of weeks.

@ BGonaSTICK: point taken, my initial worries about satshop.ch seem to have been proved wrong. Please will you point out to me where I allegedly "slagged off" satstore.co.uk?

Thanks for the links to satshop.ch - more the recommendation really.

_http://www.toppreise.ch/prod_79220.html shows him the cheapest on the 7025......

Now to my question.....I am in the market for a DB; 500S, 7xxx - don't need HDD (I'd say) as the storage would be over 100Mb network to my media PC (Media Portal).

I have a dragon cam which I'd use (potentially) or emulate (and sell dragmeister)....so what are the advantages over each model that I would see?

Thanks :)

dcmdirect.co.uk are selling their boxes on eBay here ebay. 9715692481
I offered £287 and it was accepted; so including delivery it came to £299.95.

Oh, I checked with them and it's the latest version with the ALPS tuner. :)

£284.87 in Postage and VAT from DVB Direct !!!:D

OR

£340.87 with a 160Gb drive...

Sound like this will be my choosen place of purchase

Beware of these websites who operate through a PO Box and have no phone number, probably dropshipping, if anything goes wrong you are in the pooh.

Thanks for that, hadn't noticed the PO Box.

Any thoughts on _http://www.ishop-dream.com they have the 7020Si at the same price

Forget them they want £33 shipping!!!

"By removing the lid and modifying the software you accept liability for warranty issues relating to this product." - DVB Direct

Does that mean the drive doesn't come pre-installed and you have to do it yourself, voiding your warranty in the process? :-comp

I tried saving a few quid by looking for the cheapest online deal (see earlier in this thread), but in the end would have only saved about £20. Not really worth the risk in my opinion.

another recommendation for Alekos aka satshop.ch, supplied my Dreambox NEXT DAY - except my dogs can't open the door for the postman :-DOH!

Have bought a dreambox 7020S (again) after selling my old one with network problems 1 year ago:

ebay. 9735197312

I called dcm direct (somebody named Dave) on 023 92385721 and got it for £299 delivered, including a freeview box and the InXtc Xplus card :)

Just thought the above might be helpful to somebody who wants to buy one.

Cheers.

Hello, I am pleased to be a member of the forum. I would just like to mention that I also bought a 7020si from dcmdirect from their website for £308 delivered. It was a mistake I feel as the Dm had obviously been out of the box before and the front panel has a broken hinge. Dave has promised to replace the coverO-Ha Only time will tell.

regards,

dave3dg

the tuner on my 500 has taken a dump and it might be under warranty with the dealer so.....I will let you know if I use SatShop.ch for the return and how Alekos performs ;)

I got my 7020 from _http://www.satstore.co.uk :D

At the time i paid £329 for it although they are now down to £299

Although its not the cheapest place you can barter with the guy like i did and get free postage. My dreambox arrived the next day and he has answered all the questions i have needed to ask after the final sale :toke:

The guy is an authorised Dreambox retailer so theres no problems with warrenty repairs which is perfect IMHO :D

Well worth buying from this guy :)

I paid £299 for mine, not seen them cheaper, well not from a dealer anyway.

Also looking to buy a dreambox 7020, just saw it at £197.50 at _http://www.dreambox.org.uk

too good to be true?

To Leee,
Sorry to hear you are now having problems with your DB500!

My DB7020 is still working fine, so... I hope you can get it sorted out with our CH supplier!!! Keep us posted!

To britishguy4,
£197.50
for a DB 7020, whah... That said, they only have a couple of emails as a contact point and I do not really like that.

I would recommend you to ask for their contact details, try to speak with them, get an address, check if it is in deed a registered business.

According to their website:
Dreambox.org.uk is a based manufacturer specializing in digital satellite receiver

perfect workmanship from 500 skill workers

Our monthly output can reach 200,000 sets

All product has been tested for over 10 months by hundreds of users and turned out the most reliable product among the solutions of a kind.

How can we sell at such a low price?

We buy in bulk and pass on savings to the customers. We have more than 2,000 pieces of TV Satellite receiver in stock and offer the best service to our customers.

I have to say that these guys seem to do everything from reselling, to R&D & manufacturing... I personally never heard of them, but according to what they say it sounds like they have been in the business for a fair while... So I am doubtful! Furthermore I don't think they are part of multimedia distribution's network, which means they could be clones if they manufacture them.

Also their products have been tested for 10 months... Where does that come from! They are 2nd hand then?

Not even on ebay they are that cheap. Honestly, I do not feel these guys are the real deal.

However they accept payment with paypal... If I was you I would investigate it to get to the bottom of it, before lumping that sort of money.

I heard that the 8000 is ready for the shops

If that is a fact then I would wait - the market will be full of used 500,600,7000,7020 and , of course the 7025:)

We all want a full HD box

so, wait and see
