Best HD start up system

My Satellite Setup
No setup yet, looking for advice on a decent startup
My Location
west central scotland
Hi all,

Looking for some advice on getting my 1st system.
I notice alot of sites do complete packages, are these any good?
I basically want a system capable of recieving HD with the option for cards & cams.
Where is the best place to get equipment from & how easy is it to DIY?

Any tips would be appreciated, best Satellite to target etc.

I have a Technomate 6800 HD it's a very good HD receiver, it has 2 CAM slots & multicrypt card reader. On this receiver I have a Aljazeera Sports viewing card (£80 for 12 months) for the SPL (Including 3pm games) & a Polsat card for my general entertainment & HD viewing (£18 a month).

Living near me you'll be able to answer this question.
What size of dish is required to pick up most of the satellites in our range?
I take it is worth investing in a moterised dish.

Yes mate no problem, a 80cm dish in Johnstone (Where I stay) will get over 90% of whats up there, 9*,10*,13*16*19*East all available. At the moment I use a Zone 2 $ky dish (60 cm) for 13* East which works fine up until the point of very heavy rain breaks up the weaker transponders on there. I prefer a multi-LNB bracket set-up for multi sat reception.
