Best receivers for weak transponders

Tell me another receiver that will display dB signal level readings for those frequencies that are below a lock level, a very useful tool when hunting weak signals?
Add in to the requirements an easy to edit channel/satellte database and with user friendly menus - result, you are back at the fabled Dr HD F15.
Dr HD F15 is agreat receiver with great spectrum analyzer. for some reason for me with same dish and same lnb same tume could not lock weak signaled that locked by icone irone plus and vu+duo2

Thank you very much for great pic
The one i found on web shop is the top receiver , may be it is not possible to buy the botton any more . But if the performance of 1 st edition is simillar to Dr HD F15 then i already have dr hd f15.

TM5402 M3

Hmm, in a quick test of a Dr HD F15 and a TM-5402 (M3) side by side on the same frequency the F15 maintains a constant readout of the signal level even though it is below the level required for a lock.
The TM-5402 (M3) fails to maintain a constant readout and gives only a sporadic sub second flicker of nothing useful.

TM-5402 (M3) simply cannot compete against an F15.

thanks @moonbase - i wonder how a 5402 M1 would compare - same tuner i see? does it also have a spectrum an analyser like the F15 ? are they essentially the same...?

i might sell my 5302, 5402 M3 + M4, and 6902 - gathering dust and novelty has worn off.

Thanks for this useful test . I bought my dr hd f15 at sat shop in Finland for many years ago . Sometimes I wonder if mine is clone. Although I know that this sat shop has very good reputation.

i was thinking - ive been trying to get ESPN on 40.5w since ive made my KU ` CBAND adapter - the GT MEDIA COMBO shows 20% on the TP without lock but not ZERO....however I can get FS1 - 3 - very odd, as EPSN seemed stronger to me when the CBAND LNB was at central focus - so maybe theres a modern answer - whats your experience on PAKSAT with the combo?

And what about enigma receivers?
Which one has the best tuner sensitivity?
Has anybody done any comparison test?

I liked my TM-5402 (M1) apart from the signal level readout in %. I think Technomate only made the option to use dB in the M3 model and possibly the M4 in the TM-5402 series?
I have the M3 'ere so can confirm it does dB but I never bought an M4, I swerved it.

nah M4 doesnt have DB - u did the right thing! useless.
i think the M3 - over states the DB reading.

I imported three Dr HD F15 units from probably the same shop in Finland.
The seller was genuine and used to import them from Russia, I think he is mentioned on this forum in one of the DR HD F15 topics?

Not dB level, but the GTCombo does a good impression in quality percentages. The fall off across the ranges is progressive despite being slated by 'those that know better', I find if the signal quality can be peaked to around 17% by tweaking what is outside - or inside by manipulation of the symbol rate - then there is a good chance I can lock signal and grab the streams.

For example a frequency on 36East, 11495V. Earlier it would not lock , but after nudging the dish and changing the symbol rate by 2MBps, in comes Al Mayadeen at 22%.

I would have to plug in the analyser to tell what 22% equates to in dB, but I know the Emitor has trouble locking onto a S2/8PSK signal (though it might give detail of the stream and how close it is to bagging the constellation).

My GTMedia Combo is bitched up bad, doorstop status. I gotta do the fix that is posted on the GTMedia forum but I have not got round to it yet.
I think i will go either for GTMEDIA GT COMBO or octagon SF8008. I will be very disappointed if tuner of receiver like icone irone plus perform better than all this receivers.

Hi, i just did a test on 10.0E. Using dm900 & osmini4k receivers.
