Hello!
I bought TBS5927. I would like to compare BLScan2 speed between TBS5927 and TBS8903 with same parameters. Does somebody have TBS8903 and can run BLScan2 in EBS Pro on 21,5E with parameters SR: 100-70000, Step 1 MHz, Freq 10700-12750?

My Octagon SX88 do it in 4:20 (ok didn´t find all), TBS5927 do it in 13 minutes, and it is pretty long time! (and as i see a lot of not existing tp...)

On 28,2 E is Better TBS - there do it in 2 minutes and Octagon SX88 in 4:20 too.

To get a valid comparison you need someone with a similar size dish and near to your location to do the scan.

I have attached a transponder list file of the results of my scan with a TBS6983 card. I found 51 transponders excluding 16APSK and 32APSK from a UK location with a small dish. The scan took 9 minutes and 21 seconds in BL2 mode.

Thank You for this test. Maybe someone other can do this comparison for me too? It seems that this "relative long" time is normal and USB version is not a much slower?

Is the TBS8903 a new card from TBS, from a quick check I could not find it on their website? I have a TBS6903 card that I could use to run the test and also a TBS5925 USB unit that I can use for the test if you wish? Your TBS5927 unit is the later model of my TBS5925 unit so I assume there would be little difference between these two USB units?

As I said in my 1st reply yesterday, I think the scan results will be dependent on geographic location and dish size. I have noticed that the more transponders that are found the longer it takes to complete the scan using EBS Pro in BL2 mode with a TBS unit. To the best of my knowledge, it is not only the time it takes to sweep the band, the results are stored in the database as it runs, more transponders = more time.

Sorry, my mistake. It is 6903! So can you comapre 5925 and 6903 with parameters above? Thank you!

I do not understand why you set the search limits on all Ku band at 21.6E when it is known that this satellite does not transmit between 11700-12500 MHz!?! Although you did not specify the scanned satellite,I realized from your screensh that is about this position.
There is still something else, why do you think by setting 1MHz searching you will find more frequencies than say 4 or 5 step? Setting small steps don't do anything else than that the search time to last longer regardless of card used and in many situations you don't find more transponders.(There is no time now,but the experience will teach you how to use EBS in different situations.)
Here's an example at 21.6E: I set the frequency range for tbs5927 and tbs6983 between 10900-11700 H and the search steps at 1 MHz. With both cards the search time has exceeded 11 minutes(5983) and 17 min(5927) without finding more transponders, but on the contrary 5927,one did not find it-10918 H,33707,3/5,8PSK.
I then set the search steps at 5 MHz,and voila,so search time has been shortened and at the same time EBS found all transponders-21 freq. Over 2 minutes with the 6983 card and over 3 minutes with 5927.
I used the TBS driver for both cards,tbs6983-v.1.0.0.7 & tbs5927-v.1.0.0.3.

added:search time with tbs6903 card is the same as tbs6983.

Hmm... It is interesting Satesco! Thank you for compare! Im new with TBS receivers, so maybe strange questions:-) But when i will use 5MHz, than i can´t find low SR like 11578H SR 512, 11599H SR255, 11613,9H SR376. The true is, that with 1MHZ step it finds only 11578, and the rest two still not... The 11599H im able to receive only with Crazyscan - its not possible in EBS? The minimal step is 1MHz.

Minimal step is Epsilon (in KHz),but it lasts very long, but chances are you'll find more close transponders with lower symbol rates (look at sch). There are other conditions which favors the reception of such low symbol rates, primarily a strong signal,I mean a big antenna,a good lnb, etc.
But about the EBS would be good to search on Google.

Hello.
We can still improve the method to find very small sr.
Experimental OTFS must be used and the Difer-V and Auto-adjust values changed.
This experimental therefore it does not always work well, and for other researches it can degrade the result.
In my example on 23°5 East EBS1-horz-vert.webp
Is it works perfectly and you see that there is no problem to find very small sr.
Good luck.

Thank you for tips!

Another stupid question - why aren´t SR detected by TBS5927 exact the same like here above on 6983 or on Lyngsat? It is +- 1-3 KS/s ? Which SR is correct? Can i report this SR to Lyngsat?

I know that for receiver it is just the same, but which card has better detection of SR? Is it important?

For example the TBSwrites 24997, but Lyngsat says 25000, or above is TP with SR 33707, my TBS writes 33705.

Have a nice day!

Good DX!

Jirka

P.S. Example from Badr 26E

some transponders use right SR on NIT pid

SR 24997 or 25000 are the same ! transponders locked with both SR 24997 or 25000 !

TBS express PCI always fast than TBS USB cards in BLindscan or Blindscan2
