Brave blocks trackers and intrusive ads that can slow you down on the web.
Brave keeps you and your information safer, effectively shielding you from 3rd party tracking and malvertisement.
With Brave, you can choose whether to see ads that respect your privacy or pay sites directly. Either way, you can feel good about helping fund content creators.
It's amazing how fast a page loads when you strip away
everything but the real content.

Up to a whopping 60% of page load time is caused by the underlying ad technology that loads
into various places each time you hit a page on your favorite news site.
And 20% of this is time spent on loading things that are trying to learn more about you.

Brave’s New World
To sum up, there are five differentiators that make Brave unique:

  1. It can stop ad tracking and serve you anonymous replacement ads.
  2. It can load pages much faster by circumventing the bloat from adware.
  3. It seeks to create a user community around the browser.
  4. It can completely eliminate ads if you pay for the service, either with your preferred payment method or with payments you accrue by running Brave in ad replacement mode.
  5. It could pay you to surf, but only in bitcoin as a percentage of the Brave network’s ad revenue and only if you sign up for a Brave wallet, with an email and phone number in your name.
Be aware that Brave is still in its infancy, so none of the revenue sharing features have come online yet. It remains to be seen if there will ever be enough user interest and downloads to make this radical business model viable.

Thats no good - I dont want to see ANY adverts - unless its on sites I whitelist (like this one). The advertisers have bought this on themselves by treating the end user with complete contempt over the last 10 years.

Pop ups, pop unders, tracking tools, ads with bells & whistles & hoots and whatnot. Sod em - they can do without my viewing and I shall continue to run aggressive filtering

BUT, what is it that IT is trying to find out about YOU, especially if you do not want to pay to use it?

Your browsing habits - your personal data is a goldmine for the advertisers.

Tracking data can sense where the mouse hovers over when you are viewing pages so it can tell if you are interacting with their data in any way.

Trackers can be as small as 1x1 pixel these days
