Yeah nice views there - big reason why we got this house. Gets windy though with nothing to break those westerlies.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
I went outside around 4pm this afternoon and could see white smoke from next door's garden, turned out to be a charcoal BBQ - with the rain falling down! :-rofl2

My comment to them was along the lines of "Are you optimists, or am I just a pessimist?":D

The way things are going, they'll really need to be "optimists" to do that again in the near future if the weather forecasts are to be believed.
(Our BBQ is still in its "home" in the locked Ketter garden enclosure - and will be staying there for a few more weeks yet)

Same. Was hoping for a bbq last weekend but it was showery. And today it's cool and grey... Thankfully dry.

What is it with you Brits? :)
Yesterday, I lit the char-coal in the fire-starter at the summer cottage at about 5pm.
At 5:50, the first (non-forecasted) drops found their way to the ground - and the BBQ moved under the shed roof. (Wood, not plastic!)
The char-coals where distributed into the grill at 6pm.
A light drizzle ensued while I awaited the thermometer to announce the completion of the Rump-steak, and while that rested I did another couple of sausages for the youngest member of the family.
Drizzle continued, but only the cook got a bit damp running from the cottage to the shed.
Everything was served with a bean-salad, a smooth cream dressing, and a nice Shiraz from down-under - for the adults only, of course.
For the children - Ketchup and Pasta to go with the meat, and bowl of "must-eat" veg (carrot, tomato, red pepper, cucumber).
And some fizzy stuff, after all it was Saturday...

No, no, no.

CJ can't be a Brit .... Brits are inclined to light barbeques inside their camping tents: Now that is class!

WTF: to me (and for many of us in the UK!!) "having a BBQ" is about having an enjoyable afternoon meal in the garden under bright sunshiny skies - NOT whilst "enduring" a dull, rainy, drizzly afternoon "somewhere" and so dodging downpours on our food !
