Ah OK. Vivaciti is on Entanet. I had issues with it two years ago but they switched me over to a new product and it's been fine since (barring BT line issues...)
Still getting hassle with BT Sports billing me and I cancelled that over 3 months ago. But so far the switch over has gone without a hitch.

Plus had a new mobile turn up today so I have also been trying to set all that up.

I am told they offer free fixed ip? Is that right?

Not much in it..

Except TPB and such sites are not blocked any more ;)

That's the best thing about not using one of the major internet providers.

Think I might see if Vivaciti do fibre even though sky fibre works fine just pricey for the pro option.

At the fairway pub Dodworth. with the kids.I always thought that the net was a bit slow here.:-)

After testing several DNS servers, settled on a combination of opennic & open dns.

Feeling very happy ditching Bangladesh Telecom :-)

Hotel in coastal Montenegro. Not good - and when the kids come back off the beach in an evening & everyone is piling into the wifi its virtually unusable

Having finally had time to talk to Plusnet on the phone today they finally agree there is a fault on our line.

Theres no dial tone at all now, just a very faint ticking on the line, and the fault is flagging up as an "unbalanced cable" whetever that might be, we are still ticking along at 0.6 meg on the bb

Hooray - line fixed & Im back to my stellar broadband speed.

Ni idea Chris - its whatever Plusnet's cheapest package was last November. "Up to" is completely meaningless here as I wasnt expecting even 2 meg. I was getting 1.5 with Demon so 2.5 is a huge improvement :D

Ever thought about satellite internet?

I've just set the wheels in motion to switch penalty free from BT to Plusnet.

I should save about £20 a month for the same package, BT must be losing a lot of business!

Bt are Sh@t and so expensive, compared to all the others. And so glad to be away from the legendary billing computer!

Good luck with the change over :-)
