My Satellite Setup
Dreambox 500S & 7020s. Technomate 9100 & 1500. Force frontier fixed, Raven 90 fixed, Triax 90 motorised dish. Diablo & dragon cams.
My Location
South West
Last night I loaded the satan key updater, I resarted the box and it just stuck on the Gemini project boot screen with 'dhcp..... /flash/zImage.elf on the lcd display.
I left it off all night and tried again this morning but it was still the same.
So I connected a null modem cable and fashed it with gemini 410 image, this took 30 minutes to load which I seem to remember is quite a long time? Anyway, when it finished uploading and went to 'flahing from memory' I got this error message:
'error, flash copy failed (RC=0), box will be unusable now!!
When turning the stb on now it is the same as before (above)
Can anyone help please?

Hi Ollie,

Gemini 4.10 is buggy.
Try flashing with Gemini 4.0
It is quite stable and I have been using it over the past 2 months w/o any problems.
There is also Gemini 4.2 now, but I am not that keen to experiment with it when my box is working OK.

Yes go back to 4 and make sure that the box was out of power(remove it from the wall) for a loooong time before U do this.
 
Phew!! Reflashed sucessfully with gemini 4.0 (which I had origionally).

Pretty scary error message, think I took the 'box unusable' too literally!

Hi Ollie,
Glad that your box is alive and kicking again.
Are you brave enough to flash with Gemini 4.2 and see if it is OK?
This is going to be the version for a long time so you might as well use it instead of 4.0
Don't forget to tell us later on how is it. Thanks.
 
Ok, Giving it a go, have the file am loading it now.....
Will let you know.
