Bye bye analogue in Scotland

Scotland completes DSO later on tonight when the final analogue transmitters are shut down.

Blackhill & its dependants are the last place to go fully digital, ending the process which started in November 2008 right here in the Borders when analogue from Selkirk & its dozen or so relays was switched off.

The end of analogue at Blackhill also means the end of Ceefax in Scotland. :-Nooo

I gave up with tv via the aerial after DSO - too mnay trees between us & the transmitter killed the signal, and if I put the aerial where it got round the trees the signal was hopeless anyway due to the cable length.

We havent missed it, and just use satellite now.

Not sure I could get away with my dish farm in many other places either? Had the landlord round last week - he was fascinated by what I was doing

A/S,can you tell me where the new digital transmitters were built in relation to the old ones?I believe they were built on blackhill but don't see much change in the towers as I've driven through to the capital and down to your neck of the woods for around 14 years.Cheers.
