Can't leave C band out I thought ..
An adapter on the slide bar would place a C band lnb too high ..but tagged on the end ..??
Well made a quick knock up in steel ..
The C band adapter plate would have to be drilled and bolted to the slide bar ..
Currently a clothes peg holding it on for it's photoshoot ..
but you get the idea..
Thank gawd C band lnbs are so light ..this might actually work..

Hmm might have to dig the c-band lnb out of the shed and have a go for 49E :D

Nice VS. A dish for all seasons! Or bands. Will be interesting to compare results with my Gibby.

..keep in mind it will be offset by a good few degrees..

hi -
C band l.n.b,s seem a lot less affected by being offset than k/u ones - though .
i don,t think you will lose much ----:)

So ..another 30 minutes fitting in the sunshine and we're good to go.
Thank gawd for lightweight Cband LNBs..
Thank Gawd I had fitted my boom arm exoskeleton..

Oh yeah ..very pleased indeed ..
No tweaking just positioned as in the photos ..

Tv Congo 5W ...10.5db on Christina..
9db on Carl ..
Nice ;)

Went for the longshot ..
TPC on 1W ..
no lock maxed signal = 2.7db variable..
BBC africa locked (4.2db)

Nice result. I am getting 9.3dB on 5W, 5dB on BBC and 4.5dB on TPC (no lock). This is as my PCI card/EBS Pro report it.

So, you're only getting 1.5dB more on Christina than on Carl? I would have thought you'd be at the very least 2-3dB up on that.

Ah yes ...but with Carl pointing more of less South ...he is masking part of Christinas reflector surface ..
So would have to swing him edge on to get the max out of Christina ..
I'll try this at some point ..to get a true reading ..
But to give you an idea how Christina performs in relation ..
Even with carl masking part of Christinas surface ..I still get a locked TPC (1W with 6.2 db) ..
No lock at all on Carl at 2.7db..
Now that's 3.5db difference..?

C band is a funny old beast ..see Nelson for details..
Some signals lock better on a PF than an Offset ..
Why the variation ..we just don't know.

Yes, indeed - C band is an enigma. So many unknown variables that make little sense. Some signals on my Gibby are no stronger than on the Channel Master, while others are infinitely better.

Can you see 49E on Carl? Or that stupid tree in the way still?

In theory I could peek around the tree with Carl at this time of year ..but ..
we now have a wall restricting full illumination of Carl at 53 East for definate ..
I han see Azerspace in ku ..but restricted ku view of 53 East ...
So ..maybe ....just maybe there will be enough signal from 49E .
But I would suggest ..borderline..
I will of course be trying this tho'

is there anything you cant do?

In the words of two of my favourite comedians ..
I wouldn't let it lie...!!!
;)

Insufficient for a lock at any frequency or polarity ..but for the first time I have seen a signal from Yamal ..
The data transponder 3520L giving the biggest peak at 5.2 db ..
It's a miracle !!!

A few weeks ago, did some testing of Yamal 202 on 120 cm, only ones that locked were 3707R (GTRK Dagesatan), 3711R (GTRK Komi) and 3908L (a radio test loop).

No luck with that for months here. Miles down on power compared to a couple of years ago.
