C4HD fta on widebeam!

If this transmission is something to do with C4 HD becoming available on Freesat then it all seems rather odd. Why is it on a widebeam (could it be an interim measure)?

I am also disappointed to see it is on this TP. When Euronews was on it we couldn't get it here even with 2.4m dishes I have no idea why as other TPs on that beam are receivable with an 80cm dish.
 
well I still dont know why I am not able to receive it... some say now its encoded with NDS, some say they get it clear... I get all 2A & 2B channels and also 2D till 22:00 more or less. is there a ch4 HD anymore or are we talking about something wicg is not receivable by y Vantage8000S?
 
The VANTAGE 8000S isn't a $ly box so you won't be able to view it now that the transmissions are encrypted.
 
Apparently the symbol rate is now 27500 so it should be viewable on Sky HD boxes. (Still encrypted to ftv level tho)

The joinfreesat site says full fta tests will start mid March, will a full launch on April 1st. Although there is no confirmation the report indicates C4HD may be staying on the widebeam at least to begin with, but set on on odd symbol rate. We will have to wait and see.
 
C4 HD is now reported to be fta with parameters SR23000 with fec 8/9

12607 V is listed as being on the fixed beam (in various places - Flysat, Lyngsat etc.), however since C4 HD's parameters moved to being within those manually tunable on a Sky HD box I still can't receive the new C4 HD transmission here in the Canary Islands (big or small dishes). I also believe this was the TP Euronews used to be on ? For some reason we very rarely could receive that here before it moved. If Sky switch to the FTA version (which presumably they will) we are going to lose this one I think :mad:

Looks like you were right...CH4 HD on EPG#140 has disappeared this afternoon!!!
 
According to Kingofsat.net Channel4 HD (encrypted) is available on 11978H 29500 3/4 Astra 2A South,sharing this transponder with SKY Sports 1HD and SKY Living HD..
Any idea which regions this channel is assigned to on skyboxes ?
 
According to this press release it seems the C4HD move to Eurobird for Freesat is for the long run:

Weird. I guess plans may change again when the new satellites start appearing. With a whole DVB-S2 transponder and a lot of spare capacity, I wonder what else will join them.

Thanx for that......i was only going by what i read on the net...couldn't test it mself...
