Cable quality - less is more?

So I bought the Inverto Ultra x2 outputs and seen a dramatic improvement on 2E across all transponders with stable pictures throughout the day.

However, the one exception is 10714 which is now extremely weak - either doesn't lock on or picture seriously breaks up. As this didn't happen with the last LNB, i can't see how it's local interference. Could be an LNB fault, but seems unlikely when every other transponder is performing extremely well. Wondering if because 10714 is the lowest frequency, there's less interference and this transponder is now too strong for the receiver with the short cable run (7 metres or so)? Anyone else had problems with this transponder?
 
Have you got the correct distance from feed to reflector ?

If the LNB is too far from the dish the noise collected from behind may be interfering with lower frequencies. If this does not fix it then as you say you may have a product that is slightly deaf at one extreme of the band, a substitute being the only answer.

There's about a 3 cm variation in how far or back the lnb can be - should it be at the front, back, or somewhere in-between ?

I hear that different units of the same model LNB can vary in quality. As this LNB is doing a great job picking up the other transponders (and i don't need 10714 anyway) I don't really want to change it.
