Can anyone help me record Enya on RTE1 this Friday?

If anyone out there with a Dreambox and access to RTE1 feels kind enough to help me record the Late Late Show on Friday the 6th and let me download the ts-file, I'd be extremely grateful. Enya is visiting and I'd really love to have that video in high quality. I know it's a longshot but I have nothing to loose...

Ok, I was gonna ask where it is , but I've found it. Irish Sky ...
I think I can probably clear that and being at 28e it won't get in the way of anything else I might be watching. If I can clear it I'll record for yer. Any preference on the finished video format ? Maybe Xvid to upload faster ?
 
Thanks. I have a small forum where I collect and share performances of a few select artists and the thing is to keep them in their original MPEG2 format. Another person has offered to record this and transfer it to me but since weather always can mess things up a backup recording is always welcome. If you feel you have room to spare on your harddrive I'd appreciate an extra recording. :-)
 
I'll check it out tonight. I think I have access to it. If it clears I'll set a timer on my DM7025. That box uses my fixed dish which in the UK doesn't suffer from bad weather effects from 28e and it won't tie up my DM800.

UPDATE:- Ok mate I can clear that channel , I've set a timer for Friday 6th 21:30 - 23:50 RTE1

B16MCC, my primary recording option was unsuccessful so if you were able to get the recording I'm very eager to get a copy of it if possible. I don't know what kind of Internet connection you have (although I'm in no hurry) or what transfer method you prefer. I can adapt to anything but I usually recommend a torrent because it's a safe way to transfer a file without errors and the transfer can be interrupted and resumed easily when you need your bandwidth for other things. Just let me know how you want to proceed and I'll take care of the technical details. Thanks again for your kind help.

Hi mate, I do have the recording for you. The TS file is quite big at 4.3gb. Do you want the whole show , is there anything I can do to reduce size perhaps, maybe remove the adverts ?

UPDATE:- I went ahead and removed the adverts, the file is now 3.3gb and still in original TS format. Much better !

My upload speed is 90k / sec maximum so not great for 4gb ! Also my ISP runs a traffic management policy therefore my suggestion is to upload after 10pm then it won't hit my limits during the day.

I'd like to send via FTP please, the TS will be split into 50mb rar files uploaded one by one. You simply unpack using Winrar, but I'm sure you know that. If you can supply an FTP login please let me know. Cheers

Many many thanks. I was going to suggest the rar splitting since the ftp transfers can get corrupt sometimes but it seems you know what you're doing too ;-) As long as it's the original TS-data and no reencoding, it's perfectly fine to me to only have the parts with Enya if you can cut them out. I assume there is the regular interview + some performance? Just leave a minute or 2 of extra video at each end so I can chose the exact cut point myself later on. I'll send you an ftp password through your PM.

Aah that's great mate the file size will be much smaller. I'll prepare it now.

Got into the FTP server, files uploading now. Including 10% redundancy using Quickpar. Also replied in PM.
