With the launching of the english PL games on ADsports HD channels i am planning to buy HD receiver but i am doubtful becouse my TV set is not HD TV .So can anyone please tell me if the HD receiver can work with non-HDTV set. Thanks

Hi friend..
Check the specifications of the receiver you intend to buy ...
If it has a scart connector on the back ...then the stb will most likely allow the HD image to be downscaled to a conventional TV ..
Most HD receivers do allow this ...usually for recording purposes ...

Yeah, ADMC have said you can use SCART

I agree, there should be no problem if the receiver has a scart.

When I first started bringing the Foxsat HDR out to France I used it over a scart lead with a standard TV without a problem.

currently my receiver is digital and it is not HD when itried to watch the HD channels in my digital non-HD receiver i just can hear the audio but not the picture .can it be like that how come am i supposed to get the audio only, picture only or both when i use non- HD receiver to watch HD channels??

Your non-HD Receiver cannot decode the Video for HD signals.

It is not designed to use the correct protocols, especially transmission format and modulation types, so will not work.

You might get Audio only for those HD Channels that still use DVB-S as opposed to DVB-S2, I suppose. Not sure.

Which HD channels do you mean? If the HD video channel is on a DVB-S transponder, you will get the MPEG audio of that channel.
