Hi all

I need to power up the RF output on Canal+ digibox to give a picture to a second TV. Does anyone know if it is like Sky where you need to find the hidden menu to power up and if so what is it please?

Are you sure that the receiver has an rf out and not just the lnb loop through. Most Canal+ recievers dont have rf out.

A model number will help anyone help you
 
Could you give me the box manufacture and model number then i could see if it has RF out ?
 
I dont know what make the box is but it has just been fitted by the spanish authorised agents, it definately has an RF output to go to another tv, and it also shows this in the instruction manual.
any help would be appreciated

Doesn't it explain anything in the instruction manual?
Can you attach the manual so that we can take a look (even if it is not in English).
I would connect a standard Antenna RF cable between this RF output and the TV antenna input while there is a channel on from the receiver, do channels scan on the TV (most probably in the UHF band) in order to find out which UHF channel number the receiver default was set on.
Then set the TV UHF channel in the second room to this number (after connecting a long cable between the two rooms.
Also, check in the manual if there is a mention of the RF UHF channel number.
 
thanks for the reply, I tried all that before posting. what i need is to know how to get into the hidden menu that the rf output is on to energise it. there is no mention of this in the manual as it is not an installer manual.

Are you CERTAIN that the box has an rf modulator fitted? Many modern receivers dont have the aerial link connected to anything internally - its just a loop through.
 
It is written on the back rf out and in the manual it has a picture with an arrow pointing to rf output
 
I have come across this on other devices, (DVD recorders especially), where you will find in the manual - in small writing - the box does not have any modulator output.
 
the manual actually shows a diagram of a cable going out to another tv, It can be done because we phoned and spoke to the company who installed it but they wanted 50euros to come out and look at it and said they needed special aparatus to carry it out and if they needed to use any materials they would charge more!
 
You are going to have to get a receiver make and model number.
