Can't get access point to work (not even in the pc)

Hi guys.

I bought a Dreambox 500 and an Access Point Tp-link TL-WA501G. I currently have a wireless router that provides me with internet access wich I want my dreambox to conect to via the access point. I already changed the Access Point to work in acess point client and selected the SSID of the router but still can't access the internet.

I'm really new to this. I heard that I should try to conect my pc to the internet through the access point first but I can't seem to be able to do that either. I have vista and conected the laptop to the access point via rj45. But no wireless conections appear. How do i conect to the internet via the Access Point.

The config in the dreambox is right ,I've introduced the right ip addresses for the dreambox and for the router, I've configured the access point correctly also.

-What I'm I doing wrong?
- How can i use the access point to connect the pc wirelessly to the router? where dows this connection appear in Vista?
- The conection is wpa protected, is the dreambox going to ask me for the key? I don't know where to put it in the dreambox?

Can you provide a screenshot and tell us the IP addresses for each box.

I think the key will be set in the Access Point. The Dreambox gateway will be the wireless router.
 
solved it. Wasn't inserting wpa key in access point configuration. Not very user friendly by the way
 
I need your help cause I have the same problem.
I have TP-link access point and Dreambox and wireless router.

I wanna connect the DreamBox to the access point wired, and access point to the router wirless.

I tried many things in the access point installation ( client , bridge ) and nothing work

all I need from u is to tell me the steps in details.

I will be thankfull if u help me as I have no prior or even idea on how to deal with these stuff.

best rule for setting up access are...(given you know all IP Addresses!)

Run your first set-up with no security on the router, then once you know it works generate WAP/WEP key and re-connect with key
