Channel 4 on Astra 2D

3.0 meter sky,Nile, arab and hotbird satellite. Satlook digital NIT, Horizon HDSM USB PLUS.

Paphos, Cyprus
Has anybody got any idea what has happened to Channel 4 On 10714, H 22000 5/6
We're in Cyprus and it went off about 11.00 am this morning.

It has certainly looks as if it has had a sudden drop in power or something...
all other 2d horizontals are performing as they should now where I am, but C4 is breaking up badly - would expect it t be perfect until at least 6pm!
 
Thanks Woborny, I would agree with that, All other 2D frequencies are as they should be but C4 is non exsistant here.
 
Yeas it seemed to disappear for a while on 3m and smaller. I was working on a 4.3m in late afternoon and it was working but not on my 3m at home. Now I am at home its back on.
On another note a friend who installs dishes got a strong BBC 1 in the far east of Cyprus (Pyla) on a 2.7m dish. Almost unheard of.
CAnt be anything to do with the 70 per cent humidity today ?
 
Hi all..I have the same problem. Channel 4 was ok until last night (thursday) i could always receive it late afternoon til about midnight. (Same as bbc2 & ch5) I can still get bbc2 & 5 so whats wrong with ch4? What is also strange though is that all my ch4+1 e4 more 4 etc have gone as well (i know there on a different transponder). These were always stronger than ch4 and had them all day but now nothing. Nothing has happened to the dish (i checked last night) i can receive all other channels as normal. I know it was mentioned that there had been a drop in power..is this still the case? but why didnt affect me last week..has it dropped even more?
ps i have 3 receivers and checked them all so i know its not that
Any help/explanation will be greatly received

Dont know where my post went, but I am sure that I posted that a day after the "drop in reception" post all was back to normal the following day.
And I have seen no other issues in the last week, C4 and C4+1 on 2d performaing as expected.
 
Yes,its been back to noormal since. Hopefully just a glitch.
 
Lost our Ch 4 last Thursday still not back during day and very patchy for about 2 hours during evening, then goes again. Used to be excellent prior to Thursday.
 
Well thats not right for Peyia with a dish that big. How is your bbc and itv2+1 ?

BBC is perfect, ITV2+1 not present this morning usually able to get it. ITV 1 very slight break up last night, no Ch4 this morning.
 
Normally CH4 is stronger than BBC 1 and the next weakest is ITV (west,west country,wales) and ITV2+1 the weakest.Apart from dish aligning,spiders and old LNB,there could be a telephone repeater mast near you which can interfere with CH4 (10.714)If you have the new white card you should be able to receive a very strong ITV and CH4 in "other channels " after manual tuning.

10729V & 10714H have weak output. All else are fine.

Darn it, I like to watch The Simpsons at 19.00 GMT, though with the cricket on 5 at 19.15 I guess I could change my scheduling :)

Question is, how long will this irritation continue. Ch4 is easy to fix as it's on various transponders, but not the rest which includes Film 4 & 4+1 :(
 
Channel 4 On 10714 lost in Valencia. Cant get it any time of teh day, the rest are OK. I have tecatel 135, and 2D fades out at 22, but Channel 4 On 10714 has just dissapeared all day!!

Well down on power here. I had quite a few people with problems receiving it.
 
well i can say i have both channel 4 frequencies at Q=75% (viewable) at middays, for 3-4 hours. Then they fade. Quality under 75% on 2D means non viewable on my STB though i can see other ASTRA channels perfectly with 67% Quality. The rest of 2D is viweable till 22:30.- I keep on thinking having 89% signal all day power cant mean at 22:30 i loose it all... something else happens

Huevos/swoosh Do you still have a problem with ch4 on 10714. I haven't been able to get it since July. I have played with the dish today after buying a black ultra lnb but no luck.
