Channels missing with Bush freesat box

Hi everone,
I had a problem today with a bush freesat box.After running a longish cable using good quality webro cable about 25 meters from an existing sky dish working no problem on sky HD,i was getting the message no signal on bbc1, itv 2 ,itv3. Swapping the box for a humax solved the problem.Thinking the box to be faulty i took it back to Argos and got a replacement only to find the same channels missing.I then tried the box on a dish with a shorter cable run and it worked fine.
Has anyone else had any issues like this with these boxes?

Hi, think there was a faulty batch which were showing the same or similar symptoms. Had three the same myself now.
 
Yes, I came accross one of those faulty ones too, it scanned OK, then said no signal, strange...

You get what you pay for I suppose.
 
The replacement from argos was a Grundig one which displayed the same problems.Are these the bush boxes with the grundig name on them and 20 quid more?
 
Bush ang Grundig are the same company i.e the Alba group, wouldn't buy either for myself personally, good value if they work though.

Exactly.

Being a late adopter and general cheapskate, I've generally tended to go for lower end stuff, especially AV gear, and rarely been disappointed: But these Alba Freesat Boxes really are cr*p.

PS: They're actually now all part of Harvard International,

Yeah, that's what I would have typed if google had given me the correct answer, knew they were part of the same group though, did know the name but forgot it LOL.
 
Someone to speak up for the Grundig or Gufsat HD; I got one last year for the princely sum of 24.99 (or so) when Currys was doing a clearance and it has been working quite well since. So there! :)
