Newbie Here Channels missing

Dear all,

One of my friends had a no signal issue few weeks back and he did a full reset of the system and did a full system scan.
Unfortunately he can only get 250+ channels now instead of the 600+ channels he had before.
Some sky premium channels he can get but most of them with HD and even free sat channels are not scanned now.

HE said there was very strong winds in that area last few weeks. Is the disk misaligned?
He gets Signal Level 90% and Quality as 72% which was similar when he can view all the channels.
He said whenever he changes the TP index value the signal level and quality changes sometimes even to Zero.
His DisEqc value is Disable and Positioner : Off Satellite: Astra2A 28.2E LNB type Universal
TP index get changed everytime he done a system reset

He has reset the system few times and done blind scans still the same issue?

Is this a Satellite settings issue or misaligned of the disk?

Any General values he can set in the Satellite Installation settings? His receiver is a HD 55 Titan box.

With the fierce winds we have had recently it could certainly be a misaligned dish, especially if the signal strength is low on some frequencies.

Or a damaged cable, water ingress into the cable from a poorly sealed join, a failing lnb or any one of a dozen or more possible reasons.

LNB settings should be universal or 9750/10600MHz, so that looks right.

and see if you can see a pattern from whats missing. You might find all the high band stuff (above 11700MHz) or all the horizontals are missing for example.
 
He is missing some freesat channels(Horror/PBS) and many HD channels inc Sky sports1(can see sky sports 2,3,4)
Eden channel is available but not the HD version etc..
Most of the channels should have the same satellite settings isnt it?
 
Hi / Lo band switching is carried out by a 22khz tone squirted up the cable, although after a couple of xmas day beers I cant remember which way round it is atm!

So look for any entries that say tone on or off and set it to auto if possible.

Or it could be a duff lnb which isnt responding, or the receiver isnt sending the command to to internal electronics failure.
 
With "Universal" selected, 22KHz tone switching will automatically be correctly employed, such that Low = Tone Off and High = Tone On.

Ergo, getting Low Band only means the Tone is either unavailable (Unlikely, if Universal is selected) or the LNB is goosed.
 
If the dish is moved will there be any improvements?But line quality is 90%.
Why is TP index value change everytime a scan is done? Is the TP index value set incorrectly?
