I have put this thread under the Dreambox General section, but it should be the same for other receivers which have teletext support. There are many FTA channels on Hot Bird 13E which send subtitles for selected programmes, either from an option box or using special teletext pages. The main reason for sending the subtitles is to help viewers who are HOH (Hard Of Hearing) to enjoy the programmes. This thread should help those who have some knowledge of foreign languages to enhance the enjoyment of the viewing and also help them with the study of foreign languages. There is also the possibility to record the programmes using the internal HDD (for models like 7000S 0r 600pvr or 7020S) and then manipulate the *.ts file so as to extract the subtitle file in the original language and replace it with a simple translated English file (using Google). Please see this thread: http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/computer-discussion/141251-tutorial-how-add-english-subtitle-*-ts-file-burn-dvd.html The following list details the channel name and the teletext page number used in order to send the subtitles. Most commonly used pages are 777, 888 and 150. I will also attach in seperate posts for each channel or provider, snap shots of a frame with a subtitle line. Teletext language is Italian using page 775 for Rete 4, page 776 for Italia 1 and page 777 for Canale 5 7 - SRG (Switzerland) Teletext page 777 for all seven channels. The menu options box have the following languages options No subtitles German Netherland Russian Romanian and in general the subtitles lines are smaller and nicer than using the teletext pages. The teletext pages are: Page 891 French Page 892 German Page 892 Netherland 9 - TVP Poland There is no teletext pages for this channel, but I noticed that sometimes they have hard coded subtitles in English.
