Chasing midnight New Years Eve 2014-15

Can't remember seeing any organised event,in the past.
They might show some Bollywood celebrity event most likely,if at all.

India has been poor the last few years - ISTR one of the Indian channels had a pathetic firework display on last year - most of it was hidden behind a wall!

I don't think German channel RTL,on Astra 1, have gone live to the Brandunburg gate celebrations,before,but i could be wrong.
Their coverage will last for 10 minutes from midnight.

The first of Dinner for one related programmes,Wissen macht Ah!, Dinner fur Ah!,will be on Das Erste at 5.55am (GMT),for any early birds.

Funny you mentioned that. I am one of those who came here from the Digital Spy forums a few years back. Activity there on NYE has seemingly been vaning in the recent years. I think I'll also keep an eye on Iraq on 2100 UTC. Having some small Arabic skills(I can read the script for example) might help. Speaking of - there is a caveat about Iraq. They moved channels around this year on Hotbird and channel that is still labeled as "Al-Iraqiya" is really Al-Iraqiya News. Actual "Al-Iraqiya" is labeled as "Al-Iraqiya 2". Also, Al-Baghdadiya is back on air after few months of forced hiatus although IIRC they are directing to Iraq but based in Egypt. Egypt(2200 UTC, same time as Estonia) last year hosted a special programme "Welcome 2014"(ar. Ahlan 2014), and had a countdown clock - they also happened to premiere new on air logo at the stroke of midnight.

Those who can, keep tabs on Lithuania(2200 UTC) as they will be switching to Euro - so maybe there will be something more special there.

Also, Anderson Cooper will again be tormented by Kathy Griffin on CNN this year.

There's plenty of wrinklies,to be found,in the Disco 80's concert on Channel One Russia,and usually one or two at the Polish Silvester concert on TVP Polonia,and Romanian concert on RVTI.
Mind you,they seem harder to spot,these days,what with the new "elixir" of plastic surgery;)
