Oh no! Its another daft poll from south Scotland. ;)

The Analoguesat virtual bar is open for the Christmas season, and every member is allowed unlimited free drinks of your favourite tipple. let me know what you drink so I can order it down the warehouse :D

I like to taste a bit of everything at Christmas, but a nice French brewed Kronenbourg is my favourite. :)

For those of the German persuasion on this forum you must include "Glühwein" (glogg). Even though this is not my favourite drink I am fighting on behalf of a whole nation here!

A Krug is an earthenware or stoneware beer mug with a handle. The litre version is called a Mass Krug. A glass version of the Mass Krug is called a Seidel -- this is the one you see in Munich beer gardens. Some people tend to call both the Mass Krug and the Seidel "steins". In fact, a Stein, or "Steinzeugkrug" is a stoneware beer mug with a hinged, thumb-tabbed pewter lid. It is widely believed that the lid was introduced as a hygiene measure after bubonic plague, or "black death", killed about a third of Europe's population in the fourteenth century.

I'll stick to the Jugs thankyou :-DOH!

You never stop to amaze me, oh learned Topper. This excellent detailed information is not even common knowledge to normal Germans outside of Bavaria...
