I think someone's claimed the cage for The Birdman Of Alcatraz (Burt Lancaster's finest). However, as a cineaste of European films I think I'll go for yours

Not so sure, as I suggested Birdman Of Alcatraz because the birdcage is behind bars...unless there's a hidden metaphor in the clue...

The sniper could also be referencing a scene from Saving Private Ryan but I'll shut up as I'm in danger of having two guesses...

I assumed that with some of the clues you didn't need an obvious giveaway - the plant pot is one such clue for Leon. Some are too obvious though - I'm looking at you, 39 Steps
