What is the main differecnce with a cloned dreambox ? is it quality of
parts ect ?
Am i better with a cloned 800hd or a brand new from there site 500s,
i know the spec will be different ect but...cant decide.
 
They are cheaper and can't run Gemini firmware.

They also have a tendency to be running an older bootloader which can impede which images you can actually install on the unit.

Its also a gamble in some peoples eyes as some clones are well made and other aren't.

Not exactly 100% true other than the cheap bit :D

I have both Clone and Original DM7020 units. The clone boots up faster and can lock onto weaker signals easier than the original. Not had any problems with mine up to yet.

Its just luck of the draw with clones. Some are extremely good copies but others are a waste of time and money.

If your willing to take the risk, you may get lucky as i did :D

If you research a clone can be a good buy.....
 
All the clones i have used have been pretty good. I've used a 500,518 and 800. Not much difference between them. For the HD if you just buy the ferrari sim model then you should have no problems for you when putting on images even gemini
