Hello,
Finally got all sorted yesterday with arc and all. The main goal was Nilesat for the wife. Verticals no problem in any weather the very weak horizontals gone in bad weather. Night time seems stronger.

Dish goes from 15 west to 50 east, I think from 12 west I'm suffering from the house blocking the signal but I'm not bothered as I have the Triax if needs be.

The mast is homemade by a pal at work.

Any comments welcome.

Hope you like the pics.

Well done, was the mast difficult to get plumb?

Used an old Irish/Belgian trick of packing it with a few washers. The job was easier in the end than I thought. I feel that mast is good for years. Gave it two rust coatings then sprayed it silver.

I'd like to thank this forum for ideas and motivation plus allsatcom dot com where the dish was bought, good prices, communication and service and will go back for more.

it looks good and a neat installation

has your reception improved over the triax dish you have, as i see you still have them in the background

Re the Triax reception, must test that another day I'd be interested especially since I replaced the old LNB with a BEST LNB which are a great LNB.

But I'm happy with my CM/ ASC Signal its very sturdy I look forward to many years of happy reception.

Is some one have the complete user manual of CM polar mount ?

Thanks for the PM too. Must swing the Triax over to Nilesat and compare but I'm sure the CM will knock it dead.

Will let the forum know.

if the triax gets more arc in that position , how come you didn't fit the andrews dish there in its place ?

Because the Triax in that position is set on Arabsat although its motorised if needs be. Its nice to move via diseq between Arabsat and Nilesat with the CM 1.2m set on Nilesat, really enjoying Fox Movies and the MBC package. Most of all wife happy.

In the future a kitchen is coming where the Triax farm is, then there will be a big sat re-think, its a hobby and I love it.

Must post a pic of my first setup in 1994.

We've had lots of snow, been out with the brush. The CM 1.2m still pulling in the MBC package on Nilesat.

Enclosed a few pics.

Nachmany

yes i have also a lot of snow here brrr

all freezing minus 5 on day and much colder in night!

4 days ago, very heavey wind up to 70-100 km,this not very often happens in the mauntains, but when it happens every 5 year, then it is real extensice !
so all dish still okay,4 years ago one of my 1,50m dish crashed and was warped, but wind and natural katastrpic insurance pay all!

Was very windy here too, behind pic of the dish is free standing 15 meter tower, in windy weather I always say a prayer hoping it will not come down. I use it for ham radio buts thats another hobby.

Locally I missed a bargain recently, original CM 1.2m dish,CM feedhorn LNB,polar mount and actuator all for €50. Looking around for another CM 1.2m to play around with, I've got the space and its a nice hobby.

Hi Hans,

Nice to read about your good wether.
In ISRAEL still hot.... )-:

Regards,
Nachmany

Bought a second CM 1.2m dish bought the real AZ/EL mount as a the homemade mount that came with it was not great so I went off to France to get this. Looks really great. Should I hammerite it?

Looks like it is powder coated if it is it will last well,

I am thinking of buying a brand new 1.2m or 1.8m,
