"The satellite separated from the upper stage" Briz-M "and went into geostationary orbit," - said the space agency.
"Express-AM5" takes the point of standing 140 degrees east longitude.
Launch rocket "Proton-M" spacecraft on 26 December from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. A few minutes after the start, from the third stage of "Proton" separated booster "Briz-M", which continued removal apparatus. Over the next hour using booster was formed target satellite orbit.
Satellite "Express-AM5" is designed to provide digital television and radio broadcasting in Russia, solving mobile presidential and governmental communications, multiservice networks, as well as the creation of communication networks based on technologies VSAT. The spacecraft was built by JSC "Information Satellite Systems" named after MF Reshetnev "commissioned by the national satellite operator Federal State Unitary Enterprise" Russian Satellite Communications.
