Hi guys, this is my first post. I'm hoping someone will have the answer as this seems to be a pretty good place for resolutions..... I have a clone DM500s and I use a Scart to Component video cable using the Y Pb Pr setting in the PliJade image. I find the quality is fantastic but my problem is this:
My TV tells me that I'm getting an image of 576i when viewing the Dreambox. Should I not be able to get a better image of maybe 576p or 780p etc. I saw a scart to component adapter (specifically for the DM500s) on ebay that claims to achieve 780p, so shouldn't I be able to get this with my cable? After all the adapter is just for someone who has a component cable and needs to change one end to scart to fit the Dreambox?? Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Could it be that my scart to component cable isn't capable of this resolution (I thought all cables were basically the same in that they should output the same resolution if not the same quality)?
I have all of my sources plugged into a component switch which is capable of 1080p (I know this because my XBox displays 1080p and my multimedia player displays 576p), so I know that's not causing the problem! Any ideas??
