Viewing details for the "launch" are detailed here.

You get to watch a 747 take off - the rocket launch is well out over the Atlantic.....

Launch is scheduled for Monday night (9/1)

The article makes for interesting reading. Spectators have bought tickets to a launch they can't watch and a 'silent disco'....Smacks of someone selling virtual trading cards that don't physically exist...

It’s all about the “event” and the importance of being there these days. Substance is irrelevant. That’s how all the old rockers are coining it in and topping up their pensions pots. I’m surprised the boys even get up on stage now.

Of course there’s no shortage of enterprising promoters taking advantage of people’s stupidity hence the so called launch you refer to being heavily supported.

I cant get really excited about this one, although I will watch the coverage on YT or wherever. Once the rocket range up the north of Scotland is active though I shall follow that one with much more interest - its a proper vertical launch for that one.

Auntie follows, blinkers again.

All smacks of the recent Peter Kay Tour scam to me where hundreds bought on-line tickets for, only for them to be denied entry on the night and the website they bought them from to disappear the day of the performance.

Anyone wanting to follow the flight on Flightradar24 the aircraft reg is N744VG (atm she appears to be on the ground at Newquay airport)

The Timings:

  1. "The Start Me Up mission will be livestreamed on Virgin Orbit's YouTube channel from 21:00 GMT on Monday."
  2. "Cosmic Girl, the repurposed 747 which will carry the rocket containing the satellites, is expected to take off between 21:45 and 22:45."
  3. "The rocket, LauncherOne, will then be released off the coast of Ireland between 22:54 and 23:54."
  4. "Cosmic Girl will return to the spaceport between midnight and 01:00 on Tuesday."

A reminder if its clear it might be possible to see the Start Me Up rocket across most of the UK in the south west once the motor is ignited & she gets to a decent height.

Odd that the flight altitude has disappeared from the live link and youtube promotion.
