I was having a problem getting 23.5 and 28.2 e on my motorised system but i could get everything else west up to 30w, so my farther knew someone who does this sort of thing so i rang him he came round with the meter i was like great maybey he could tell me the problem after going up the ladder to the dish he started to bend my penta digit left to right up and down the bolts are still tight but he was handleing the dish like it was a rug i was so shocked and horrified. As he came down he said my dish was to small and that i should get better a dish because the one i have atm is crap, i was so horified from the response that i told him to leave my home and not come back !

And then when i looked at what he had done he had adjusted my dish with the bolts ion place and pushed it off point so now i will have to spend most of the day getting it back to where it was ! )(-red.

I might be need of a engineeer who can help me on my situation to come out in the west london area around uxbridge denham that sort of way any PM for any more details :)

But after todays incident i was horified to think are most engineeers like this?

When trying to tweak a dish, especially a weak satellite, it is usual to apply light pressure with the bolts tight to see which way the dish needs moving. This would not BEND anything though.

I assume that you are having problems on the 23.5E beam that is centred on Germany?

The rest of 23.5E and 28E of course should be very easy with the Penta, and maybe the other 23.5E beams as well, not sure.

I f you need an installer, you should post in the Installer wanted area of the forum.

EDIT, No, just noticed that you have the 68cm Penta, too small for German beam on 23.5E, so your engineer was probably correct.

If they do that they are not engineers. You could always name and shame if you have their details (were they in the phone book ?)

I'm not far from Sunbury so if you get stuck for somebody local then I can pop over, but tbh, some beams (Czech for example) will be rather weak on a 68cm dish of any type.

I do know it is too small for the 3A beam but at least who could have sorted out the 28.2 or the 23.5 1G or 1E beam i used to recive this on my zone 1 ! but just the way he was bending it never looked right. all i know is that his name is called peter and he drives a unmarked white escort van ex post van :P. well Channel Hopper i will start again in the morning and if no luck i will PM you and see if we are able to sort something out ok :)

Send him a bill for a total re-alignment of the system.
One needs to do their homework when calling out an engineer/installation company.
