In your 600 enter this.

Code:
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
F: DM800 pass 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 }

You don't need a Cline in the 600

In your 800 enter this.

Code:
C: 10.11.12.13 12000 DM800 pass no

Where 10.11.12.13 is the IP address of your 600.
You don't need an Fline in the 800

I'm assuming the 2 boxes are just on your lan in the same house so you don't need dynamic DNS addresses.

thank you very much for your help if i was to put the dm800 in my friends house what would i do with the boxes would i just get dyndns for both of them and do the same thing as you showed me any more help would be great

can some one help me please i have a dreambox 600 with a sly card i want to share with my dm800 i put in my dm800 config c: my dyndns 12000 DM800 pass no and in my 600 i put in F: DM800 pass 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 } it works in my house but when i take the 800 to my dads house no joy what am i doing wrong i opened my bt home hub and made a new game called it dreambox and i think i opend the ports i did this 80 80 80 80 and in the next line 12000 12000 12000 12000 and next line 16000 16000 16000 16000 next line 16001 16001 16001 16001 and went to port forword and put the new game name dreambox to my 600s mac adress can someone help me been at this for ages any help would be great thank you

Hi Betty, have you associated the open port that you are using with the ip address of your 600 and also make sure dhcp is off on the 600. Say you associate port 12000 with ip 192.168.0.2 then your 600 needs to have this ip address continually. If DHCP is enabled the ip may be changing.

hi tomthebomb1968 thanks for your pm i turn the dhcp off in the 600 my bt router finds my dreambox as a mac address not an ip should i add a new game and name it 192.168.1.13 wich is the 600s ip and pair it with my mac of my 600 plus can you tell me if everything els ive done is ok so i know its just a router problem thank you

If sharing is working at home on your own home network using the DNS name, this means that there is still something wrong with the modem/router setup.

You have set up port forwarding, but you also need to allow those ports through the firewall.

On some routers, this means going in and adding a rule to the firewall to allow traffic to that port through. On others its just a matter of lowering the firewall security a little to automatically allow forwarded ports through.

PS: The only port you need to forward is the one CCcam is listening on which is 12000 by default. The other ports are only needed if you want to remotely view your dreambox's web interface or CCcam Info pages.

This is the bit that was confusing me. You normally cant connect on an internal share using the DNS, you use the internal lan IP address. Maybe the best course of action here is to reset the router to defaults and then do as compufunk says and only forward port 12000. You must then set the firewall rules to allow (associate) the dreambox 600 ip to access this port

A little tip from experience. Stick to DHCP guys, turning it off will only give you problems. If you're worried about the IP changing then bind the mac address in the router so it always assigns the same lan ip.

That's correct. Give the dreambox it's own IP address in the router, and port forward 12000

Personally, I've never had any problems turning DHCP off (Client side) and using static addresses.

Not all routers have Static DHCP as an option, but if yours does, at least you know you'll allways get the same IP address.

I have moved this thread out of the guides - hopefully we can sort it out.

Did you make any progress?

I have all my network eqquipment (laptops, dreambox, slingbox, network printers etc) set on static ip addresses. Use the router as the dhcp assigning addresses from there, set the ip's up, then put stickers on the bottom of each item to remind you what the ip address is (you WILL forget at some point!)

Its half an hours job but will save hours of confusion later.

This is my network sertup:

192.168.0.1 router
192.168.0.2 Dell Dimension 5150 desktop
192.168.0.3 Compaq Evo laptop (wifi card)
192.168.0.4 Acer laptop (radio card)
192.168.0.5 Samsung colour laser
192.168.0.6 Compaq Evo laptop (ethernet port)
192.168.0.7
192.168.0.8
192.168.0.9
192.168.0.10 Dreambox 7020

192.168.0.40 reserve for DB streaming via ngrab

192.168.0.237 Slingbox

thank you very much TG lots of info to play around with al get back to you and let you know how i get on yer some kid cheers

thanks for info i have a black bt home hub 2 ,i made a new game called it 192.168.1.44 this is the ip address of my 600,i then opened the port like this TCP 12000-12000 12000-12000 UDP 0
then i went to port forword and found the new game ie 192.168.1.44 and paired it with my 600s mac address in device, looks like this Game or application: [ 192.168.1.4] <<<<<<>>>>>>> device: [ mac :00:09:33:43:02:11 ] is this ok so far

does anybody know how to portforword the black bt home hub 2 ,if so could you show me please' the easy way would be good lol ,

dynds is a must to share outside the house is this correct , is my ip only for in the house .i ask this because my dyndns updater keeps changing my ip i turned the updater off and use lnadyn setings in my 600 still wrong ip but seems to work with two boxes connected to my own router

on the home hub game and app sharing is port forwarding, if you go to the devices section and find the dreambox there is a little tick box which will say: always use the same ip addres for this device.

ps. i use the dynds service within the hub with the game and app set to 12000 for my dreambox and DHCP is on,

have a look here its a great page for setting up homehubs _http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/workshop.html

No point - that old card will be replaced in the near future.
