I heard that it is possible to pick up channel4,5 and itv and some othery sky channels on a 1.5m dish?
Is this true?
 
hello,
if you are picking up sky 1 and 2 it should be possible
itv load 12.402 ghz v should give you itv packet
12.480 v ch 4 and e-4 feeds
12.422 h fiver ,five, five us
if you have a sky box and has a active card you can load these in the add channels and then tick or check each one and it shuld be good to go.

Oh yes its true. They have been working for a few months now.In a sky digibox you will need a freesat card to unscramble them.
You cannot get these channels on a Freesat box though.

Some SKY channels, yes....but you are stretching it a bit with a 1.5m for Channel4/FIVE & ITV...

These are the FTV (Encrytped) versions NOT on 2D that they are talking about.

sure i tried it....they work here also, but what i meant was they are not guaranteed 24/7 on a 1.5m dish...that's why i use a good quality 1.8m.
 
Astra 1G is now at 31.5E and has east and west beam
Is 2C going back to its original beam if it goes to 28E?

i SEEM to lose signal on some channels on a 1.8m dish with a inverto black ultra lnb especcialy at night time ? mainly on the fiver ,five and + channels ? is that normall?

Dreamboxes have crap tuners...have you tried a skybox on your setup to see if same channels get affected?
One other thing is...is your 1.8m dish prim focus or offset type?
prime focus 1.8m is not as efficient as the offset 1.8m...

I have a good quality offset 1.8m dish ... so i gueess it could be the dm tuner. what reciver with linux option would you recomend that has a good tuner?

Mainly channel5 i lose? only the last couple of days? realign dish and no problems on the + channels etc

If you say your dish is good quality, then a fine tune might fix your problem.
My i ask who aligned your dish? and what equipment they used?

The dish was tuned by me , using a new trimax meter, i find tuned it to its max using a good quality dish and a inverto black ultra lnb, i get all other channels no problem apart from channel 5 fiver and etc, they were ok a few days ago. The meter shows the signal ok for the five transponder. At night i lose a few + channels with a bit of pixalation. Also i heard ayios tyxonas area is not a good place for astra 28.2 signal ? Could i be going wrong?
 
You could be. I have never used the inverto black lnb but others who have are not impressed. I can get a Five etc on a 1.5m offset with the Technomate twin offset. I think the model is TM2. Was yellow,now black. The quad is even better. We found that they perform very well on the higher frequencies that Five,ITV and CH4 use. What make is your 1.8 offset dish and is it in good condition ? If it is slightly bent or distorted then it cannot focus properly.Can you post a photo ?
 
I was told that the inverto was good for fringe reception, Also i get itv channel 4 fine , but no five fiver etc? I was told to try ou the mti lnb maybe that would fix my problem?

Okay then,last question . Do you still pick up the signal on your sat meter when you lose it on your DM500 ?

Well yes i get signal on my meter, but maybe what im thinking i could have used the wrong transponder to tune in channel 5. I used the transponder for sky sports to find the signal, and then for five to fine tune. Im new to these transponder things ,,, maybe there some guide in what transpoders to use when tuning and fine tuning.

Btw thanks guys for the help up to know....... Hope not being a pain
