d800 and my sky card

satellite not set up yet need information first

what do i need to use my original sky card in my d800?, when i place it in the slot all i get is fta channels.

dm800hd, 1.0m motorised dish. AMD Phenom 11x4 965, radeon4890, 2 x 1TB, 1 x750GB.

You need a softcam, i think you need to use oscam to read that card, there is loads of information on the net about setting up oscam, just have a hunt about the tinternet.

You may find it easier to use CCcam this may be a downloadable plugin depending on what image you are using. It works with most sky channels apart from Pick TV which is on terrestrial digital in the UK anyway.

Your sky card may not update the entitlements if left in the Dm800, you can return the card to the sky box over night or enter your box key in the in the CCcam.cfg file. You may need the CCcam info. plugin which will tell you when your entitlements expire and lots more about CCcam. There is information about how to get a box key convertor if you search.
