Hey guys, now i know this thread and topic is right out of left field, but i decided we have such a great mix of minds on here that I should get some good advice

Ok... here goes... There is an elderly man on my street who by his own admission is VERY hard of hearing and also his eye sight is pretty poor

On a few occasions i have seen him almost hit other cars, we are talking cm's from damage, he has forgotten to put his handbrake on at times also

In my opinion he is not just a danger to himself but to others also, there are many young children on the street that could get hit

Whom could i contact about my concerns (as a good neighbour) to try and enforce that he has to resit his test at the very least

Is there a way to do it without giving my own details, but to also ensure that something is most definitely done about it

I am not being horrible, but this guy needs to be off the road

Any pointers, advice etc... will be much appreciated

Thanks guys :)

Just found this discussion after a brief search.

Haven't read every word, and it probably doesn't give a definite answer, but there are some useful pointers.

You would be best having a word with his family.
From memory I think his doctor can stop him driving, after an examination, if he/she deems him no longer safe to drive.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Call the rozzers on 101, let them know of the issues, they can contact the driver and get him to go for an assessment (doctor, DVLA, etc.) to see if he's fit to drive safely, from then on it's in their hands really, but it is better to get unsafe drivers off the streets, be they 17 year old tw@ts in corsas or forgetful 70 year olds that are having one too many near-misses....

Reported him to non emergency police and also an online DVLA contact form last night

I don't like the whole idea of reporting someone but this is for the safety of everyone
