decrypting oddness

Hi folks

For research purposes I have installed what I believe to be the latest Camd3 and associated k*ys on my DM7020

I can decode many different channels and you can normally tell when this is successful as it is accompanied by the images on the TV!

In addition to this the little encryption type icon in the OSD goes to green (eg. N, V, CO, CW etc.)

Now I have a few channels (as listed in the camd3.keys) file where the icon does indeed go green (yipee) but no videostream is visible on screen (boo!)

Any ideas why this would be folks - surely if we have a green icon we are decrypted and a video stream should be visible?

Which channels are they?
 
well for research purposes :-) I have been attempting to view the following on Hotbird:

FREE-X TV
FREE-X TV 2
X-DREAM TV
REDLIGHT ITALIA
REDLIGHT ULTRA

Spice and others are okay - can't see what the prob is with the above ones (the encryption icons are green!)

I even telnetted in when decrypting and did a "pcamd -ecminfo" and even THAT said it was decrypting okay with the right ServiceID and PinID!

but still no picture or audio - strangeness!

Hi guys can u help me.. i have a power sky blue star 4 decoder DS 8210.. i am hooked to nile sat and i have over 100 scrambled channels.. how can i unscramble them.. thankx

I tend not to watch education programmes, but maybe someone else could tell you whether they transmit during the day or not?
 
Am pretty sure the channels you mentioned roboldham don't clear at the moment, so not much chance of seeing em with just local softcam/keys decrypting. Still plenty else to see tho!
 
hehe _stu_ yes these education channels are transmitting at the moment!

yazooo - looking in the keyfile the keys concerned are right there in black and white and according to the dreambox ARE being decoded so - why else would they be in there?

Only had my DB a few days so all new :-)

am i right in thinking you have the via2 or iredeto 2 card for these channels
if not you will not receve them as the cw has changed a few weeks back the cw stuck so was view able

How do you mean "add with Tuxbox commander" - I have been telnetting in but wondered what you meant here?

I just installed camd 3.840c with a config and k*ys using the blue button on the gemini 2.7 image. I have a DB7020 but FreeXTV Free-XTV2 on 13E are not open to me. Could you give me a hint how to install the CW please? or pm me? Thanks in advance.

:) With 'camd3', luckily you do not need to enter a seperate 'cw' file, simply add the relative keys to the 'camd3.keys' file which is found in the path 'var/keys/camd3.keys'. Different matter with 'newcamd', where a seperate 'cw' file is needed and placed in path...'var/scce', depending on image.

Re. the TuxBox Commander'...just a file which allows you to add/edit files/keys etc. without an Internet connection...info found here:

Will send you a PM...will contain full keys + seperate list to show the 'cw' keys in question.

Up to you whether you use FTP or TuxBox Commander to update!

:-DOH! UPDATE.

Redlight and the two FreeX channels no longer opening with 'cw'...other two still ok!!!

Win some...loose some, nature of the hobby.

Still will allow you to insert the keys as a trial run on editing.

Thanks very much for your help. I updated the cw k*ys by telnetting into my dreambox and edited them using the linux editor 'vi'. There's still a lot to learn :)
 
hey lovelyperson - may I have a copy of that PM too - just learning the ropes here - I use FTP personally!

re. Rochdale - I dont live in Oldham - sorry!
