Hello Pride 21

What kind of dish you use ?

I'm happy that dielectric plate works fine for you.
Please put some photos with your plate and with your receptios
I wait other members reply like pipino and vipersan who are interested in my dielectric too:cool:

Hello!
with transparent teflon material i got the best results!
but very strange is,that the signal result on the diffrent cband lnb brands are not the same, when you use this material!

hi doktorofsat here is a pic of my plate,on 40wmost of the channels went up from between 5% to 15% in quality,tv congo on 22w went up from 30% to 44%quality and darr on 18w went from 64% up to 76% quality, this is only a few channels but the rest were the same.

hi -- doktorofsat --

i would like to add my thanks - for the details on making your dielectric plate -- i made one last night -- and got good results when testing today --improved strength and quality across all satellites -- on my 1.8 channel master offset dish -- using Pauxis C band l.n.b . -- :)

I'm happy reading that the dielectric plate works fine o your setup, nelson!

Now I work hard on my next dish an 1,8 prime focus , and soon i'll upload some photos at DoktorOfSat setup!

Nelson I'm interested how good is the C band reception on a offset dish!!

Can you tell me some details about receiving the following satellites:

64East

49East

1west

18west

27,5W

Thanks in advance:cool:

Hello Nelson B

Nice result man , quit impressive

OMG , you can't get 64e it;s a big loss indeed

5EATV-excellent music station african and international music

TIM - brand new movies in engish

CAPITAL-nice docus in english

TV Mozambiq-nice shows and music

I wonder if you can get 57e?

There is TeleChad and the Satv feed with a t lot of footbal. The signal is good !!!

I noticed that you can't get from 49E

TV2 Lorry -is has nice movies and shows but not a great loss overall. It has the lowest signal from this bird...

Don't miss the show "Naked and funny" from the REN channel and some softcore prod on midnights, and the english movies from SABA tv

Please tell my if you can get from 5W 4023 R 2018 7/8 "Tele Congo" and what can you tell me about the reception of 34,5w!!

hi --
my setup tracks from 53 east - 58 west -- the roof of a large building blocks the signal any further east --

i put , TV2 Lorry in manualy - and get a signal -and a channel name download -- but its too low to view .

"Tele Congo"on 5 west -- shows nothing for me --

34,5w --reveals 2 transponders

3714 L and 3907 L

i,v tried the african transponders many times since summer ,
when i got the c band l.n.b etc --
but have never seen any signal here --

You can see my limits now with a 1.8 offset dish :)

i may try making the conical feed as shown by " satcom1 "
when i get some spare time -- just to see if i can get more signal .

Nelson_b I must have missed the thread about your use of a conical Scalar on a 1.8 m offset dish. Can you tell me if this device improves your signal over a flat Scalar? On 1.2 m CM offset many report no difference.

hi - Satcom1 -
to be honest i,v never compared the conical Scalar to a flat scalar
until very recently i was under the impression that a conical feed was needed-- on a offset dish -- whatever the size
but as you have said - and elsewhere - i have read , some say no benefit on a larger dish .
i have a flat scalar and will compare it when i get the chance --

i bought a DMX741U combination C and k.u. l.n.b. including dielectric plate and conical feed -- from america -- early this summer
a flat scalar came as part of that package

the DMX741U was rather a dissapoinment to me - for use on a offset dish here in england
the C band side was not too bad but was outperformed by the £11.00 pauxis that i got from china -l.o.l.
and the K/u part was poor for use on a offset dish ---

the feed in the k/u part is designed for prime focus -( flat scalar ) so will only pick up very strong satellites -- and the signal is weakened futher by needing the dielectric plate inserted in order to recieve the C band L and R circular transponders -- that are mostly used for C band-- here --and in Europe

i,m sure the DMX741U works well enough for most peoples needs on a large prime focus dish :)

poor weather forcast tonight for n.w. england tonight --
i will report my comparison findings - when i can

Thanks for that review of the LNBF. I have the same LNBF and the older BSC-621. Neither work on C/Ku for an offset dish. LAK7 on the u.s. site has his working on a 10' Prime Focus BUD.

Most people by one of these and it winds up on the shelf.

The only proper c/Ku set up is described in this Pic.

On the issue of the flat Scalar on an offset dish some here feel it has to do with the dish f/d ratio.

hi nelson_b i see in your pic dotorofsats plate goes right in the lnbf i found it the strongest signal about 6mm outside the lnbf, strange that.when i used the the prime focus scaler on my old 1.2cm offset dish i did not get all the channels but when i put the connicle scaler on i recieved more channels plus improved signal.

hi - pride21 -
strange indeed --
i played around for quite while with- plate position -feed position - and l.n.b. in holder position - and what you see in the picture is certainly best on my setup -- moving the plate forward dropped the signal for me --
there certainly seems to be a lot of variables with different C band setups -- each one seems somewhat unique.:)
