Has anyone managed to pick up the Greek Digea DVB-T feeds (encrypted in BISS) on the Eastern Europe beam of Eutelsat 3C at 3°E here in the UK?
  • 12683 H 9535 8PSK 3/5
  • 12694 H 9535 8PSK 3/5
Also, there's an ERT Digital DVB-T feed on 12740 H 12620 8PSK 2/3 which carries EuroNews and TV5 Monde FTA.

The Eutelsat coverage maps show that the signal should be OK with a 90cm-120cm dish in most of the country but what's it like in practice? I don't have anything to try with as my current dish in a rented house is a 60cm Sky Zone 2 on a tripod :D

None of the Greek channels have been reported in the New Channels section which suggests they arent particularly easy to get.

No problem for me in East Anglia using a Gibertini 1.25 dish.

Alpha, ANT1 and Macedonia TV on 12683H.

A little late, but I'll add them to the list AS.

@Llew:
Suppose you do also get 12740H, which is also for feeding the terrestrial transmitters inside of Greece but run by NetMed.
Can you please add the SNR values just to have an idea how well the signal is ?

I will ASAP if nobody else does, have to pop out for a while.

Thanks for the info. :)

It'll be interesting to see if in due course ERT Multiplex B is added to this satellite as they roll out DVB-T transmitters across the country seeing as ERT A (TV5 Monde, EuroNews and the encrypted Nova channels) and both Digea muxes are there.

ERT B contains ET1, NET, ET3, Kanali Voulis and ERT HD.

S/N of 12740H at my location is ~12.4dB. The other Muxes are about the same, with a constant BER of zero. That's with a period of intermittent testing over several hours.

Yes, there were rumours going round that in October the 2nd Mux (which also transmits the public radio stations NET, Deftero, ERA3, ERA Spor, Kosmos) would be starting. Vouli by the way is being carried by Mux 1.

Here are some frequency tables showing the terrestrial situation in the two major cities:

At my location (just inside the official beam) these 3 frequencies are always between 11-13dB. This is what Crazyscan and EBS Pro show.

Yes, pretty much the same here then. Footprint coverage at my location is possibly a little less than at yours if the official map is to be believed.

Have had these since their first appearance on 3e. But never bothered to report due to being encrypted.

Not quite. Theoretically you are located in the 44dbW whereas me in the 50dbW zone and we do get same results indeed but you by using 1.25m and me 1m.

Would be interesting to see what the situation is like further West and North.

Reception reports should be independent of if encryption is active or not. What about your dB readings ?

12683 H 9535 8PSK 3/5 - 7.2 dB
12694 H 9535 8PSK 3/5 - 7.2 dB

Quite weak. Not much until picture breakup. Looks like in Ireland and Scotland 1.20m are the absolute minimum for getting a signal on the very limit.

It's got some rain fade, remember testing it in heavy rain.

No problem here on the Triax.

What about 12683H ? And to which SNR in dB corresponds 59% SNR on a DM800 ?
