Recently replaced my TV with a Sisense smart TV and I’m keen to dump Sky and adopt Freesat. I currently watch TNT ( formerly BT sport) via the Discovery + app which is part of the Sky offering. Is the Discovery + app available to easily access on Freesat ? Does the app appear on the home page ? Thanks for your help. CR

I don't think Discovery+ is available on Freesat 4K boxes as it's not mentioned on the Freesat website.

I read in a Google push feed that Discovery + would be available from January ‘24 on page 150 of Freesat….unfortunately I don’t have a Freesat currently,so can’t check it out. CR

You could try contacting Freesat for a definitive answer:

You might find Discovery+ is available in the "app store" on the tv itself.

It's definitely available on Roku and I believe the latter is now integrated with many current TV models.

The Hisense tvs don’t use Google Playstore unfortunately and Discovery+ is not available currently on the Vidaa system they use.

The Amazon stick version of Discovery+ is extremely slow and buggy, for example in the sport section you can't go to the all sports index without scrolling past the live schedule - if you don't let the schedule load and try to select all sports it gets confused, displays a mixture of various menus and then crashes and restarts.

For the meantime I’m just casting TNT sport from my iPad….with very favourable results picture wise.
