Hi all

Couple of questions:

1. What size dish for Arabsat (Badr 4 26E) and if possible Nilesat 7W? heard 1.2m will just about work for Nilesat and if not then it will for sure get Arabsat.

2. I already have Hotbird on an 80cm dish. If I install one of the above dishes would it be possible to have one cable going to the receiver? is this the splitter? If so, which brand would you recommend. Heard the shielding is an issue.

Location is London W14

Thx

1. A decent 85cm - 100cm should be fine for Arabsat 26e. Nilesat vertical transponders only around 100cm - 120cm.

2. A DiSEqC switch will allow the two feeds over a single cable run.

Thank you for your prompt response. What do you mean by vertical transponders ?

The numbers on the left hand side (Transponder frequencies) with a V next to them.

This is the polarisation of the transmitted signal, either vertical or horizontal.

Would a Titanium 0.1dB single output third edition universal LNB work for either Arabsat 26e or Nilesat 7W?

Coupled to a dish of sufficient size, yes.

Thank you again, I love these forums, you get instant replies.

One final question I promise, is there any particular brand that I should go for when purchasing a DiSEqC switch?

They all do the same job but as a preference, I use Global.
