hey anyone on here know what size of dish I would need for 39 east in glasgow

Which particular Channels are you interested in?

I'm using a Televes 1m dish for Bulsat package on 39e, I live in Donegal in NW of Ireland, plenty of signal quality too - never suffers rain fade.

The F1 & F2 beams are fine in Scotland on reasonable sized dishes. S2 is none existent here, and forget S1.

agree with above, id say a quality 1 meter off-set dish and universal lnbf should give plenty of bad weather margin for the europe wide beams at 10.95-11.2ghz vertical(F2 BEAM) and the 12.5 to 12.75ghz vertical/horizontal(F1 BEAM) regardsHELLASSAT2_F1_BEAM.webp HELLASSAT_F2_BEAM.webp

Im getting typically 11dB -12dB on the fta Bulgarian channels on an offset 39E lnb attached to the 1.1m dish aimed at 46E and only roughly set up - heaven knows how much the dish has moved in the gales over the winter!

The only Europe beam channel I have problems with is DVB-S2 The Media Office on 10955V

????? footprint where you live (Scottish Borders) indicates 60cm. roughly to 100cm by Madrid (spain) the signal is very high.

????? la huella donde vives (Scottish Borders), indica 60cm. aproximadamente, con 100cm por Madrid (spain) la señal es muy alta.
  • F1 and F2 footprint similar to Glasgow.
  • Parecida huella F1 y F2 para Glasgow.

PD: Nothing at all to the footprint S2/Nada de nada para la huella S2 (Media Office 11473H4444 3/4 8PSK).

The footprint and dish size indicator are a little misleading. Because this sat is pretty low in the sky (at least this far west anyway) a bigger dish than indicated is required. Go at least a size bigger and rain fade won't be a problem.
