Dish size needed

It's 22 metres from dish to Dreambox. Will that have a bearing on quality of signal being so far away?
 
We'll it was £15 for 100 metres of eBay?
 
Well if you have bought, give it ago your only after certain channels from memory if you get them its ok, they should be some writing on it somewhere, if you can see anything post up what it says.

Had a guy out fixing leads etc going to dishes because they were a sight and he said it was a 1m dish i got. He also said the one i'm using now is a 55cm not an 80cm!!! Anyway hes back tomorrow to put 1m up so hopefully be able to pull in a few more sats.
 
The 1m dish fell from wall in wind the bracket and all !!! Dish is damaged but got it back up and signal fluctuating up and down so not great. I'm gonna get a new one probably larger one and was looking for ideas for a better one which might bring me in more sats. Also wondering If solid or mesh is better. Thanks in advance. BTW the idiot who put it up drilled 12mm holes and used 10mm bolts !!
 
Well tbh he was a mate doing a favour so I'll maybe bill him for the new dish !!
 
That's no excuse, really. It could have fallen on someone's head and killed them!

lol did your mate use them 10mm bolts n raw plugs to fix the dish up?

As they are strongish but you don't drill a larger hole for them

if you can climb a ladder it's good experience to fit the dish up yourself.
 
Heights are a problem for me tho lol. Yeah he put plugs in and when I looked after it fell they hadn't even spread out at the bottom to grip against the brick.
 
If the holes are 12mm then you could use a "Tapcon" but the holes need to be a bit smaller the the actual Tapcon diameter.

There is another way, the dish bracket's top mounting hole has the most torque on it, and needs to be the strongest point, you can use some epoxy bolt anchor, you squirt a bit of the epoxy (it mixes in the application tube) into the hole, then insert a 10 mm threaded rod, you put a bit of painters tape around it to keep the epoxy from dripping down the wall and to keep the bolt straight, then the next day you mount the dish bracket.

The photo of the cable, any manufacturer can meet / know the cable is for reference, but we do not only have useful reference meters ..... 097m, 095m, etc. meters to see you spend or if you saves the length, cutting many meters.

For motorized antennas, apart from the loss, it is important that the living (center wire) 1'13milimetros either a minimum or you will have trouble moving the antenna, if it is 1'33mm better.
Cables ordered low (28dB / 100m) are almost all 1'13mm.
With 22metros not have problems, but always with custom motor cable or fat will have voltage drop and the motor will move wrong.

Taco metal (10mm ==> 12mm drill) / metal Taco (10mm ==> 12mm drill).

Depending on the wall where you install the bracket, you can use metal studs (reinforced concrete walls) with 10mm diameter studs, you need to drill 12 diameter, not a bug, that's right.
For solid brick, you can not use metal wall studs break it, you have to be plastic.

The correct size for the screw (light).

Tacos quality Hilti or similar 10mm, 10mm drill.
The 4 grommet mount and balanced support, then put another 4 more.
Please washers for screws.
As a motorized antenna, remember to leave the bracket to level 2 of their faces.

Unmount the disk (4 screws) and place on a flat table, otherwise Apolla 100%, you will lose signal.
It pints of being 90cm, measured the height and width,, quick calculation.? the mean is the real measure, as is a helipse (S = pi.r1.r2)

In my case, 98x90cm = 94cm antenna average.
98cm = 49cm r1
90cm = 45cm r2
We 0'692 m2
94cm circular antenna = 0'693 m2. (S = pi.r2)

The support you have and the engine does not apply to that antenna.
According photo February 22.
You need to put a support 50mm / 60mm minimum for that antenna 140x130cm.

Even 75mm......Gi-130 (138x128cm)

For those calculating freehand signal channels, leaving about 38-39dBW, which are 150cm with good LNB (IBU) perhaps, but without guarantee.

That dish looks ok £150 at Amazon, i would use 2 k brackets and one T to fix it, don't use the mount above on a dish that size or it will be on the floor again.
