sorry guys, can you confirm something for me just so I know i'm not reading the wrong idiots guide.

In the "where you watching footy" thread, Apart from Showtime at 7W, Thor 3 at 0.8W all the others would only require no more than a 85cm dish?

Just trying to find what I can get with a transparent 85cm dish, you know, to reduce the moaning neighbour syndrome.

Thanks.

I own a 85cm transparent dish with smart 0.2 lnb and I pick up the football on 42e,28e,23e,19e,16e (sometimes) 1w, 30w ....no problem at all...and im north east england...

80cm is the bare minimum for 16E in Kent, so you should get away with an 85cm. The others mentioned should,'t be a problem at all. 1.8m needed for a good signal on 7W Hoizontal transponders, maybe a 1.5m for showtime as its one of the stronger tps.

Oh thats good thanks. Would I be right assuming that i'd be able to get free channels on all the sats that I can see and get reception, eg 10E, 9E, 7E, 4.1E, 3E, etc all of which appear to only need a 85cm dish. Its not all about the footy, I do want to increase the amount of channels of normal stuff. Free sky is getting worse, can hardly find owt to watch.

3E, I don't think so,it's inclined by 4.8 degrees. Never tried 4E, the other 3 should be OK though, I get a strong signal on those at a quick glance.

Inclined, just read up on what that means, nothings ever simple is it.
