I want to build a system based around a Technomate 6900 HD Super receiver.

If the receiver is located in the living room with the main tv. Can I provide a separate feed to each of two bedrooms? The bedrooms will share whatever channel the receiver in the living room is pointed to.

What's the best way to do this?
 
Will you be wanting to watch HD or SD broadcasts in the bedrooms?
 
RF distribution is an option to feed the signal from TM6900 to additional rooms (SD only). Also consider a quad LNb set up and separate receivers in the bedrooms which in turn will allow greater viewing options (HD) with reception and selection of all channels from the satellite the dish is parked at. These receivers will not control the motor.
 
SD in the bedrooms is fine. We invariably fall asleep before the progs finish! Would RF distribution use existing 'freeview' coaxial cable instead of digital satellite cable?
 
Yes, you can use ordinary TV coax if you have some lying around. But if you need to buy some, you might just as well go buy a 100m reel of wf100 as it with do both satellite feeds and aerial feeds admirably.
 
Good point and thanks for the assurance Robbo, I've got loads lying around.

Now what about satellite cable connectors? 'F' connectors appear to be universal if I'm not mistaken. Does it matter which so long as they're properly done?
 
For a one-off installation the screw-on ones will be sufficient. Ebay is normally the best place to get a small quantity.

They are pretty much universal, but they do come in different sizes, the ones you need are the common ones.

Maplin is a bad place, they charge far too much for them.

Crimp or compression types can be used for the professional touch, but the appropriate tool will cost in the region of £20 maybe.
