dm 600 signal and tunner swaping

hi all, I got my dm600 an it had a cable tunner installed, but it came with both tuners so I swapped for the sat one. The thing is that I get "0" signal strenght from it. I think it should be at least getting a little signal like 5% or so and than you sort it out but this is flat zero. Is there anything I need to do when swapping tuners like update and adjust settings or are they just clean swap plug and play, or is this tuner faulty?
Thanks

I have never swapped a tuner, but do you have a working Dish/LNB/Cabling setup.

Have you tried another sat receiver to verify that this setup is good?

yes my echostar was working before and my sky is on now. I tried them both (separate dishes and cables etc.) just to check the box before I do a proper setup and I think the indicators should have at least a bit of signal even if it is not in position and they it will increase as you tune it up, but I got flat zero. I dont think this should be the case.
Any help?:confused::confused::confused:
Thanks

Check out the dreambox settings, they won't be the same for both tuners.

I'm not sure what I need to do anymore, I tried setting it up and it definitly says sat. also in the about menu it is a DVB-s. I don't know if I need ro flash it, update it somehow, change anything, or is it busted tuner. Anyway I can check the tuner?
Thanks

Thanks for your input and friendly advice!
I've been trough the guide but it doesn't say anything about swaping tuners on dm600, or if I should get any signal strenght or flat zero on satfinder. The question was put there so that I can determine if the tuner was faulty and ways of checking as it does not pick up anything, smply because I just got the dm and if it is faulty I should return to seller.
Thanks again

My point was that so far on this thread you have not given any indication as to the basic parameters you have set up the DB with, hence we cannot help you until you do that. The dreambox is not, never has and never will be an stb that will just switch on and work. Swapping out a tuner is not a procedure normally carried out by a novice to dreamboxes, which is why there is no mention of it in the guide. I pointed you to the guide so that you could get the initial manu settings correct nothing more.

Cool,
It's simple, I got the box of ebay with both tuners but with cable tuner preinstalled, I swapped them and the result was zero.
The one thing you said is the thing that made me think "The dreambox is not, never has and never will be an stb that will just switch on and work." so I guess it's time to flash it and do a new image install.
Will post here with the outcame later.
Thanks again and sorry if I was a bit ........

A factory reset and new image solved the problem.
Thanks to all

Which image version?
Latest is Gemini 4.5.0 and it has some new nice features.
Just make sure you have an original box.
