hi all i have a clone 800 hd se it came loaded with a russian image which i hated. been trying to flash a new image but have no luck so far.the box seems to have crashed at the mo. this was due to downloading a plugin to help with motor settings. so i think now my only option is dreamup.
so far i have drivers installed cp210x usb to uart. and am using universal dreamup v.1.3.3.7. im connecting to the dm with a usb to the mini usb service port. ive changed to com port 3 in device manager and dreamup connects to the dm. and reconises it. when box is powered up a loading bar turn green and travels all the way and say upload complete waiting for acknoledgement. and that as far as it goes. i have not tried flashing anything as yet. i also tried turning off firewall on pc. i also tried with the network cable disconnected. i have only tried one usb to mini usb and wondered if there were different types of cable or are they standard. i think i have reached the point where i need a little help if thats ok.
 
Have you tryed to flash the image via your web browser? that is the best way, only takes about 3 or 4 minutes.

Turn the power off on the box(not just standby), hold in the front power button, while switching the power back on, keep holding the button in till it say's stop, it should then say dhcp, then it will show an ip address, the box is now entered flash mode. On your pc open a web browser and enter the ip adress on the display of your box, a page will now show up, at the bottom it should say FIRMWARE UPGRADE, click on that, then you can browse to where you have the image saved, now you click FLASH, and the image will upload to the box, once it does press REBOOT NOW, your box should reboot and that should be it. If you use firefox use a version older than 4 as i have heard 4 won't work correctly, also make sure you have an image with the bootloader integrated or you will get a no ca error.

thanks that is very usefull infomation. i seem to have the no ca found error being displayed to start with. have followed your instructions but no ip comming up just blank screen. how long do you need to hold button in. so far i tried holding in for 1 min while powering up. all the best moosegoose.
 
If you already have the No CA error, you will need to use a null modem cable, and dreamup, you would be better googling for info, i'm not very good at explaining how to sort it.

Ah, actually i'm not sure if you use a null modem cable with a 800se. I think you have flashed an image for a genuine box on your machine, google for "dreamoem" that is the site for sim 2.10 products, if you go there you will get the correct patched images for your box, and you will see the correct way to sort out a NO CA Error.

ok i have sorted it with the help of this piece of info.
i now have the newnigma 2 image installed but it keeps skipping the tuner config at start up. i have tried factory reset but skipped it again so at the mo i cant seach any satellites.

How to recover your DM800 SE Clone with SunRay-FlashUp and Browser

yes after 10 hours sorted with the help of this. now have newnigma 2 install but on start up it skips tuner config so i cant search any satellites.

First you need a USB-A To mini-usb-B to connect to service socket on back of receiver, and a Network cable to Connect Receiver to PC

Download

1 Sunray -Flashup for 800hdse


2 -- Because sometimes a patched image will not do the trick, i did chose for this manual the factory loaded image and the correct SSL82 for this box

Here the SSL82 For DM800SE


1--- Connect USB cable to service slot on DM800SE/DM500HD and USB slot on Pc. Windows will then install the driver

You will notice, windows created a virtual Com Port connection to be be used ( in this case Com Port 4)


2 --- Switch Receiver off and connect Network cable to Pc

3 --- Then Start SunRay- FlashUp, Tick Use Network, Fill the relevant boxes with local pc IP and Romote ip of your choise and click Connect.

Program will ask for you to Switch on the receiver.

4 -- It will then go into HTTP mode

5 -- At this stage, you open your browser and insert the romote IP shown on the 800LCD

Page will open as per bellow and then you chose the option Update Firmware.

6 --- Click Browse and navigate to your image

7 --- Chose the image and click Open

8 --- Now click Flash button

9 --- Image will start to

10 --- When it finishes you can click the back button of your browser so we can then send in the bl82 do not reboot

11 Browse and select the SSL82 for your DM800SE Clone

12 --- Once again Click Flash


13 -- After finishing click Reboot. In Most case you will need to do so manually



Box will then reboot and come back to life with image we chose to load. Then you can load your Patched image of your coice as box is functional again
 
now have newnigma 2 installed but it skipped the tuner config. so i done factory reset and it skipped again. so at the mo i cant find any stations as there is no tuner config.
 
That's good you have got it flashed now, maybe the tuner is not correctly in the slot, try taking the cover of and pushing the tuner in, iv'e seen other people having this problem.


Have looked, a lot of the 800se's are coming with loose tuner's
 
yes i too found a thread about loose tuners so i whipped the top off. it was not in that good so i pushed it home. the only reason i started messing with the box in the first place was because the tuner seemed to be arratic. it would find some channels then none and the motor stopped working as well. so i thought this may have cured it, but no still the same. after spending all week on this ive just about give up. but ive been here before and turned it round. my last hope is i read that ifyou go to ts panel you can add a driver. but cant find ts panel in newnigma 2. and not knowing what it is makes it harder still. thanks for your help.
 
im sure some one could make a decent living providing a live telephone service for dreambox problems. only downfall though is you would not get much sleep.
 
Sorry that never worked, i have read about the drivers to, i will upload ts panel for you, install it and see if you can get the drivers, sorry i'm not really helping you much.



Try installing a different image on it, open pli is good, you get loads of different images over at dreamoem.

I have been looking oer on dreamoem at the 800se images and i can't see newenigma there patched for a clone, so my advise would be to join that forum as that is the sim 2.01 teams forum, and pick an image from there for your box that's been patched.
 
hi i have joined so many forums my head is spinning. just to update you ive flashed with clone cvs and now have tuner config again. but motor do not move so im more or less back to were i was friday night
. have learned a fair bit though including how to control ones temper. all the best
 
Ok now were getting somewhere, have you entered your lat and long and setup all the sats?

Iv'e had trouble to with mine in the past, i know how you'r feeling.

Take a screen grab of your tuner config, and post it here, so i could have a look at it and see if i can help with setting's.

To take a screen grab of the tuner config, open the tuner config menu, then open a web browser window and type in the box ip address/grab,
e.g 192.168.1.777/grab
 
yes you have been a great help. some times you just need to talk to some one and it will twig some thing. i now have it working. i think the initial problem was a loose tuner card which was causing the intermiting signal and motor control. then i made the mistake of downloading images before i had read up on them. the dm 800se is still quite new so there is not as much support as other boxes. also buying a clone made life difficult. i tried 3 times too buy a genuine but was let down first time and then some one tried a scam and then i ordered again and they were out of stock. so i decided to go for clone 800se. if you want to use cccam many of the later images dont include that. so not only are you searching for a clone image it also needs to be a older version. also there are no instruction what so ever with clone boxes. any way its sorted now im running a 210 icvs image witch included the ts panel. thanks for your help.
 
You are very welcome, i'm glad you have got it sorted out in the end. Clones can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes with the images, iv'e been hearing that the 800se is pretty good though. The cams are all taken out of the newer images but you can still install them all manually though, and you will see they are all in Ts panel, so just install that if you ever want to put a newer image on then download the cam from there.
