DM500s from china

A week ago I received my DM500s from china (Got it at a very cheap price) and it came with the MAC address 00 09 34 xx xx xx, so I updated the image to the latest gemini project 4.6 and so far everything seems to work correctly.

Reading in this and other forums, found out that there are other possible images that can be installed. As I'm a newbie to the dreambox world can someone advise me if there are any advantages to operate the DM500S with these alternative image files rather than the original gemini project ones?

If there are any considerable advantages which image is suggested to be the best to install.

Please note that I'm using cccam

The advantages of other images is that they're not a potential timebomb. Most images are built on Enigma so differences may not be huge other than look and feel.
 
dg01, you may or may not be aware that Gemini images contain code to kill a chinese copy dreambox. I would suggest you change to nabilosat image. Its about the best on features and contains no killer code.
 
I have been using a nabilosat image in my chinese import with no problems so far.
